A one day class will be offered to the beginning beekeeper on January 18th, 2014 from 9am to 4pm, at the Chattooga Agricultural Center 33 Middle School Rd, Summerville GA 30747.

This workshop will offer the beginner insight into honeybee biology, equipment and hive tools, start up with nucs vs packages, lighting a smoker, products of the hive, honeybee instillation, and challenges of hive management. Anyone is invited to attend this informative meeting.

Registration fees: $25 for an individual, $35 for husband and wife, $5 for anyone 17 and under. Registration fees should be submitted to Rebecca Thomas at the Chattooga County Extension Office, 10011 Commerce Street, Summerville GA 30747.
