
The Senior Scholars program is returning to Berry College for its Fall 2025 semester, offering a wealth of educational and community-building opportunities for adults aged 55 and up. Registration for the program, which kicks off on September 15, is now officially open
Designed to foster lifelong learning, personal growth, and vibrant community connections, the Senior Scholars program provides an enriching educational series tailored specifically for its mature participants. Hosted primarily at Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum, with additional offerings at various other Berry College locations, the program integrates seamlessly into the college’s historic and picturesque campus.
This semester boasts an impressive array of over 25 unique courses, led by esteemed Berry College faculty and accomplished local experts. Offerings span a broad spectrum of interests, including history, religion, literature, wellness, technology, and culinary arts, with class formats ranging from immersive one-day workshops to comprehensive eight-week series.
Highlights of the Fall 2025 program are set to include:
- Historical Sites of Georgia with Dr. Jennifer Dickey, delving into the state’s rich past.
- Write Your Life memoir writing courses with Melissa King, designed to help participants craft their personal narratives.
- Gentle Yoga and Ballroom Dance classes, tailored for multiple skill levels to promote physical well-being and social engagement.
- Thought-provoking Holocaust Education programs with Katy Matello.
- Hands-on Cooking Workshops exploring diverse culinary skills, from sushi preparation and creating gourmet hummus boards to mastering holiday baking.
- Unique Specialty Tours of iconic Berry College landmarks, including the historic House O’ Dreams and Possum Trot.
Whether the goal is to explore hidden historical gems, enhance language skills with Spanish lessons, master conflict resolution techniques, or perfect the art of the chocolate chip cookie, the Senior Scholars program offers something to pique every interest and fulfill a passion for learning.
