The room was full at the county commissioner’s office as contractors waited on the opening of bids for Phase II of the Chattooga County Water Project on Friday afternoon.  Bids were opened by water board Chairman Sammy Lee and Larry Whitley of Ladd Environmental.  The bids were broken down into different parts of the contract: Valley Area, Cloudland GEFA and Cloudland USDA.  Ladd Environmental will certify the bids that were submitted today and submit back to the water board next week.  Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters told AM 1180 that he was very pleased that the bids submitted were adequate to complete the job within budget.The Chattooga County Water District will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 6 PM to award the bids.  This will also serve as the regular monthly meeting for June.
