Blood Assurance is hosting a holiday-themed blood drive today, Friday, November 21, 2025, in Chattooga County, and residents are encouraged to take part in the lifesaving event.
The donation drive will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. today at 170 Farrar Drive in Summerville. The event is part of Blood Assurance’s “Sleighin’ It” campaign, aimed at boosting the local blood supply ahead of the busy holiday season.
Blood Assurance emphasizes its “Give Local, Save Local” mission, meaning all donations collected in Chattooga County stay within the region to help patients in area hospitals. Officials say blood is urgently needed for trauma cases, surgeries, cancer treatment, and chronic illnesses—and every donation makes a critical difference.
As a special thank-you, all donors giving blood between November 16 and 30 will receive a free “Sleighin’ It” long-sleeve T-shirt, while supplies last.
Donors are encouraged to prepare by eating a good meal beforehand, drinking plenty of water, and bringing a valid ID. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged and can be made at bloodassurance.org/chattooga.
Blood Assurance urges all eligible residents to participate and help support the health needs of the local community.
