The body found inside a vehicle on March 29th has been identified.

On March 29th Law Enforcement was called to a wooded area off Cherokee Co. Rd. 175 in the south end of the county.

Upon arrival at the location Officers were told some people riding four wheelers in the area had discovered a vehicle parked on a woods road and that there was a body inside the vehicle.

Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff`s Office called the Coroner and Investigators with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to the scene. Evidence at the scene showed no signs of foul play. The body was believed to be a female from Cleburne County Alabama.

This was determined by Identification discovered at the scene and by the registration of the vehicle. The body was transported to the Forensic Science Lab in Huntsville Alabama for positive identification.

A positive ID was made using dental records of the female from Cleburne County and comparing those records to the person found inside the vehicle. The Dept. of Forensic Sciences notified Coroner Don Rogers on Tuesday and stated a positive identification had been made.

The person found in the vehicle was positively identified as Brenda Louise Spradlin, a 41 year old white female from Ranburne Alabama which is located in Cleburne County. Ms. Spradlin had been reported missing from Ranburne on or about January 19th 2009
