The Chattooga Board of Education has announced a public meeting regarding the millage rate for Chattooga County property owners.

The board has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in the property tax by 4.58%.

The Chattooga Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the tax increase at the Chattooga County Education Center, located at 206 Penn Street in Summerville, on Thursday, August 12 at 6 PM.  A second and third meeting will be held at the same location the following Thursday, August 19 at 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
