On Thursday, a reception was held at Summerville City Hall to recognize Chattooga County’s Olympian Brody Malone. 

Malone was presented with a “Key to the City” by Summerville Mayor Harvey.  The key and accompanying plaque had an inscription that says, “Congratulations on your accomplishments at the Tokyo Olympics.  We are proud of you.”

The City of Summerville posted the following on the city’s Facebook Page:

This phenomenal young man is so humble and talented. He didn’t want a big parade or a big fuss, but we are thankful that we had the opportunity to present him with the Key To The City and the Friendship Flag that was signed by many in the community. It was touching to see him reunite with a few of his teachers from school and to have the moment to express how proud that we are of him.
