The picture of escaped inmate Johnny Mack Brown at his time of capture in Franklin County Georgia barely resembles the prison photo of the inmate supplied by the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Brown had grown a beard and had lost considerable weight by the time of his capture.  A Lavonia police officer spotted Brown walking down a railroad track and stopped to question him.  At first Brown ran into a wooded area.  The Lavonia cop called for backup and Brown was flushed out of the woods.  Brown put up a struggle, at one point he had the holster unsnapped on an officers gun.  Law enforcement officers were able to subdue Brown with the aid of a flashlight to the head and some pepper spray.

Brown is currently held in a hi max security facility and will be facing charges in Franklin County for resisting arrest.  Brown will also have to appear before a judge in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit for his kidnapping of Summerville resident Kellie Durden.
