A wanted man was captured in late October in Northwest Georgia.  Georgia prison officials say that the man was in a prison-transition program at the state prison in Buford, Georgia.  They say that forty-seven-year-old Brian Scott Murphy was working at a job in Gainesville and was supposed to return to the prison in Buford on October 14th, but failed to show back up.

The Georgia Department of Corrections said Murphy was recaptured by the department’s fugitive and apprehension unit after following leads to Walker County. The department’s spokeswoman did not elaborate on those leads.

The department of corrections says Murphy is now being housed at Hays State Prison in Trion and is facing pending charges of escape.

Murphy was originally serving time on burglary charges.
