The Trion Bulldogs faced a tough challenge on the road Friday night, falling to the Temple Tigers with a final score of 41-20. The loss was particularly notable as it marked Temple’s first victory over the Bulldogs since the 2005 season, snapping an almost two-decade losing streak against Trion.

The defeat drops Trion’s season record to 1-2, coming on the heels of a triumphant win against Dade County last week. The Bulldogs opened their season with a hard-fought loss against arch-rival Gordon Lee.

Head Coach Sean Patrick’s Bulldogs will need to regroup quickly as they remain on the road next week. Their upcoming opponent will be the Model Blue Devils, promising another challenging contest away from home.

Meanwhile, the Chattooga Indians had a bye week, getting a much-needed break after a challenging start to their season. The Indians dropped their first two contests, losing to LaFayette and Coahulla Creek.

Chattooga will look to turn their fortunes around next Friday when they hit the road again to face Mount Zion. Fans will have to wait until Friday, September 12, for Chattooga’s first home game, when they are scheduled to host Gordon Central. Both local teams will be eager to secure wins and gain momentum as the high school football season continues.
