Friends of Jessica Arnell Sharp gathered in Cedar Bluff, Alabama on Monday night for a candlelight vigil in memory of the twenty-five year old woman that was slain in what law enforcement believes to be an apparent murder-suicide.

Sharp was pronounced dead on the scene by the Cherokee County Coroner on Saturday afternoon.  Police were called to the scene of the crime near Cornwall Furnace by the man they believe committed the murder.

Thirty-nine year old Michael Joseph Snider of Gaylesville was suffering from self-inflicted knife wounds when police and paramedics arrive.  He had gone into a wooded area near where Jessica Sharp’s body was found.  He was taken to Cherokee Medical Center where he later died.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said the investigation is ongoing into the incident.
