Summerville Police arrested two people after finding a vehicle parked on Union Street on August 29th. According to a report released this week by the Summerville Police Department, an officer noticed the car sitting stationary in the street for an extended period of time.
When the officer approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, he could tell that she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. When the officer asked the driver for her driver’s license, she handed him her debit card. The passenger in the vehicle told the officer that he had seen the car parked in the street and got in to talk with the driver. When asked how he knew the driver, the passenger two said that they had been “hooking up” recently.
Officers found open containers of alcohol and suspected drugs inside the vehicle.
Thirty-five-year-old Amber Nicole Hines and forty-nine-year-old James David Burrage were both arrested on drug charges and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
