Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett spoke with AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio earlier this week about the cartoon character drugs that have turned up in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama over the past few weeks.  Chattooga County deputies became aware of the tablets of “ecstasy “shaped in the form of Bart Simpson the Smurfs and other cartoon characters after they raided a party that involved drugs and underage drinking at the Gore Community Center.  Everett said that because of the news coverage about the pills during that bust, Alabama deputies were able to identify the drugs when they busted two men in Leesburg last week with the same type tablets. Everett said that parents should be aware of what their children are taking and observe medicine cabinets in their homes to make sure prescription drugs are not missing and to talk with your teen agers and pre-teen kids about the dangers of drugs and help them identify potential dangers.
