Bluegrass on the Rim is a Bluegrass concert that will be held at the Little River Canyon Center. School Is Out For The Summer – Back To School Bash Planned For July

School is out for both Trion and Chattooga school systems and kids are getting ready to enjoy their summer, but already Chattooga Family Connection is planning the 2024-2025 school year Back to School Bash.  The event has grown each year and hundreds of backpacks and school supplies are given out each year.  This year, the back-to-school bash will be held at the Chattooga High School War Lodge on Thursday, July 18th, from 4 PM – 6 PM.  For more information, contact Maisha Ludy with Chattooga Family Connection at 706-388-9849.

Annual Chattooga 4H Peach Sale Underway

It’s one of the largest fundraisers for the local 4H Program in Chattooga County – the annual Georgia Peach Sale.  Each year, Chattooga 4H sells Georgia-grown Dickey Farms peaches from Musella, Georgia.  These are freestone peaches and are great for canning, freezing or making some good homemade peach ice cream.  Orders for 25-pound boxes of peaches are being taken until June 28th.  The cost this year is $40 per box and all the proceeds will go to help Chattooga County 4H’s many programs.  To place an order, you can call the Chattooga County Extension Office at 706-857-0744.

Sign Up For Trion Football Youth Camp

Registration is underway for the Trion Football Youth Camp for children ages 5-13.  The camp will be held July 17th, 18th and 19th from 6 PM until 7:30 PM at Sam R. McCain Stadium in Trion.  The cost is $30 per camper and a T-shirt is included.  Payment and registration may be done in advance, or the day of the camp at the stadium.  The camp will include skills, drills and instruction from Trion coaches and players.  You may register by scanning the QR code above.

Teloga Fire Department BBQ Lunch June 15th

June 15th from 10am to 2pm during The Teloga Community Yard Sale, the Fire Department will be serving up delicious BBQ lunches and selling whole pork butts for pre-order!
All proceeds go towards purchasing much-needed equipment and turn-out gear for our Teloga Volunteer Fire Department!

Fundraiser For Chattooga Senior Center

There will be a BBQ sack-lunch fundraiser for the Chattooga Senior Center coming up this Friday, May 17th from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Fit Pit Parking lot in Summerville.  The lunch will consist of a BBQ sandwich, bag of chips, pickle and a drink.  The cost is $8 and all of the money raised goes to support the activities at the Chattooga Senior Center.  If you have questions, you may contact the Chattooga Senior Center at 706-857-5001.

Free Music At Center Post Community Center

Come out for an enjoyable night of music performed by Ted Scoggins and Dennis Brown at Center Post Community Center Saturday May 18, 2024 beginning at 7 PM EST. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend. They will have concessions available for purchase. The menu will consist of hotdog plates, soda, water, coffee and homemade desserts. Center Post Community Center is located at 8125 HWY 337 LaFayette, GA 30728, just north of the Chattooga County line.

Ice Cream Social At Sloppy Floyd State Park Later This Month

The Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park are inviting everyone out for an old fashioned Ice Cream Social, coming up on Saturday, May 25th.  You can choose your favorite flavor of delicious, homemade ice cream for only $3 a cup.  Credit and debit cards will be accepted.  The Ice Cream Social is taking place from noon until 3 PM and will be held next to the park’s visitor center.  Remember, a $5 park pass is required.
