The Town of Trion Business Office, Maintenance, Gas, and Recreation Departments will be closed on Friday, March 30, 2018 for Good Friday Easter Holiday. Garbage normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Thursday, March 29, 2018. All other days will be on regular schedule.
For any emergency calls for the Gas or the Trion Police Department, please get in touch with Emergency 911 and they will contact the proper person.
The churches of Lyerly and the Town of Lyerly are hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt coming up on Saturday, March 31st.

Come out and support the 9/10 Summerville Chiefs Baseball team at a BBQ Fundraiser. On March 31st from 10 am until 2 pm, the Summerville Chiefs will be selling BBQ plates for $8.00 each behind the Kangaroo (at the old doctor’s office) across from the Fit Pit Gym. Each plate will have smoked pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw and a drink.

Chattooga County Schools will hold Kindergarten registration for the 18-19 school year on April 12th and June 7th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chattooga Enrollment Center.

You are invited to “Hillbilly Socrates,” an open forum for thinkers of all ages. It will be held at the civic center on Wed., April 4th, from 7:00-8:30. The evening is an open forum for “thinkers” of all ages who have questions about origin, meaning, morality, and destiny. Hillbilly Socrates will give “truth-seekers” the opportunity to ask questions and examine truth in an open setting.

Though spring has officially arrived, the American Red Cross blood supply is still recovering from severe winter storms in March. Donors of all blood types are urged to roll up a sleeve and help save lives.
The Chattooga High School Class of 1978 is planning a 40th High School Reunion coming up later this year.
Organizers say that the reunion for the CHS Class of ’78 will be held on Saturday, August 25th at Sweet P’s at the Tavern in Trion. There will be a meet and greet from 6 PM – 7 PM and dinner will be at 7 PM. The reunion is expected to be over by 10 PM.
