The Polar Express is coming to the Chattooga County library! On December 19 at 6 PM, the library will be providing a showing of the 2004 Christmas film The Polar Express.
Children can wear their PJ and bring a small blanket and pillow just like the passengers in the movie. The library will provide cookies and hot cocoa. According to the library, “You never know… someone may even get a bell to take home.”
Chattooga High School’s Mother/Daughter Banquet will be this evening, beginning at 6 PM in the Chattooga High School Cafeteria. This is an event to both celebrate and educate women and girls about taking care of their health. A local female physician will be our guest speaker.
The Chattooga County Republican Party will meet Monday, December 4th at 6:30 PM at the Senior Center in Summerville. Special guest speaker will be Gubernatorial candidate Michael Williams. The public is cordially invited to attend.

“Cocoa with Santa” will return to the Walker Co. Library this Monday, Nov 27. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lafayette-Walker Library, families can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa at the library (much like Breakfast with Santa in Summerville on Dec 2).
It will be 4-6:30 PM. The cost is $5 per child, and proceeds will benefit the Walker Co. Library.
Local Democrats will hold their last meeting of the year on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. The meeting and covered dish dinner will be held at 6 PM at the Senior Center. Members are encouraged to attend and bring a favorite dish for the meal. All interested persons are welcome.
