The December Menlo City Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow, December 5, has been postponed one week, and will be held on December 12 at 7 PM at City Hall.
The City of Summerville is gearing up for the 2017 Christmas Parade, to be held tonight at 7 PM. This year’s parade theme is “The Sights and Sounds of Christmas”.
The Town of Cedar Bluff will be hosting their very first Downtown Christmas Parade this evening. The line-up will begin at 4 PM, and the parade will start at 5 PM.
Immediately following the parade the town will have their annual ‘Lighting of the Park’ Ceremony featuring pictures with Santa, refreshments and Christmas music. Officials with the town say that there are well over 40 entries entered in the parade.
Alabama Highway 68 from Highway 9 to Boundary Avenue will be shut down during the parade and all traffic will be detoured. All big truck traffic will have to take Highway 35 in both directions.

Trion Height Baptist Church will host ‘LOL 2’, a comedy theater program on December 9 and 10 and 6 PM. The event is free and is open to the public.

The City of Summerville will celebrate the opening of the newly constructed Fairway Community Center with a community open house on Dec 11 beginning at 4:30 PM. The City Council will hold their regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 5 PM at the Fairway Center. Light refreshments will be served.
