Benefit Yard Sale For Shelby Millican at Second Baptist Church Lafayette October 12th

There will be a yard sale to benefit Shelby Millican on Saturday October 12th beginning at 8am at the 2nd Baptist Church in Lafayette.  Shelby is 17 years old and has brain cancer.  All proceeds from the yard sale will go to help Shelby with medical expenses.  2nd Baptist Church is located at 500 West Main Street in Lafayette.  For more information please call 423-883-2255.

Local Girl Scout Troop Needs Jar Donations

Local VFW Post To Host Veterans Day Celebration at Dowdy Park on November 9th

Friends Of The Library Book Sale October 17-19

The Chattooga County Friends of the Library book sale will be taking place Thursday, October 17th – Saturday, October 19th.  Hardback books and DVD’s will be $2 each and paperback books will be $1 each. Thursday book sale times will be from 10 AM – 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM – 6 PM.  On Saturday, books will be half-price and the sale will take place from 10 AM – 2 PM.

Summerville Fall Festival October 19

A Fall Festival is being planned in Summerville and is set for Saturday, October 19th, starting at 3 PM at the old North Summerville Elementary School on Highland Avenue. Food vendors and a variety of activities for all ages will be available, including games, carnival-style fun, and a community bake sale. Raffle tickets will also be sold for the chance to win prizes. Volunteers are still needed to help make the event a success – contact Sasha at 706-622-1666 to get involved. Admission is free, but donations are welcome to support the festival. The Town of Lyerly has made the decision to postpone Lyerly Down Home Day due to the impending rain forecasted for the latter part of this week.  Down Home Day will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 10 AM – 2 PM.

Local Girl Scout Troop to host community meeting on Thursday September 17th at 5pm

The Chattooga County Girl Scout Troop 40119 will be having a community meeting on Thursday September 17th at 5pm at the Chattooga County Library.  This meeting is for any girl interested in the Girl Scouts and also for community members to come and see what the Girls Scouts are all about and how the Girl Scouts can help the community and how the community can help your Girl Scouts.
