There will be a yard sale to benefit Shelby Millican on Saturday October 12th beginning at 8am at the 2nd Baptist Church in Lafayette. Shelby is 17 years old and has brain cancer. The Chattooga County Friends of the Library book sale will be taking place Thursday, October 17th – Saturday, October 19th. Hardback books and DVD’s will be $2 each and paperback books will be $1 each. Thursday book sale times will be from 10 AM – 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM – 6 PM. On Saturday, books will be half-price and the sale will take place from 10 AM – 2 PM.
A Fall Festival is being planned in Summerville and is set for Saturday, October 19th, starting at 3 PM at the old North Summerville Elementary School on Highland Avenue. Food vendors and a variety of activities for all ages will be available, including games, carnival-style fun, and a community bake sale. Raffle tickets will also be sold for the chance to win prizes.
