The Chattooga County Young Farmer Organization coordinates a pig project for students each year. The program begins in the summer and students get pigs to raise, show and auction in the fall. The students received their pigs in June and exhibited them at the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair in a preview show. The show and auction is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th at 3 pm. This year eight students will exhibit 14 pigs at their show. The auction will give community members and opportunity to purchase locally grown pork raised by Chattooga County Youth. Hogs purchased at the auction will be delivered to Skillett Hollow Processing and processing fees will be the responsibility of the buyer.
