The Friends of Sloppy Floyd have been busy decorating the park for the holiday season. Lights will be turned on every evening at 6:00 through the month of December. Be sure to take a ride through the park and enjoy the lights.

The Chattooga County Library Summerville Branch will be offering free classes for older adults who have concerns about falling and as a result, restrict their activities.  “A Matter Of Balance” is an award-winning, eight-week program that emphasizes practical strategies designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.  The class will start January 7th and will be held from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Summerville Branch of the Chattooga County Library.  Sign up is required.  You can contact 706-857-2553 for more information.  Also you can find more information below:

Community Outreach Chattooga will be serving a hot meal at the Scout Hut In Summerville Ga. Saturday December 14th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will also be giving out jackets, gloves, mittens and boggins. All are welcome to attend. This event is free to the public. The Chattooga County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) will  hold their quarterly meeting on Thursday, December 12th at 8:30 a.m.at the Chattooga County Civic Center. All members or their representative and elected officials are invited to attend.  A light breakfast will be served.  Brent Newton, Safety and Training Coordinator and Matt Farmer from NGEMC will be presenting.

The Chattooga County Republican Party will hold its final meeting of the year this Thursday, December 5th.  The meeting will be held at Sweet P’s at the Tavern in Trion.  All are welcomed to attend.  The meeting will take place at 6 PM.
