An NGEMC member has reported a new active scam. An unsolicited caller demanded money and sent the member a barcode to take to a third-party store and scan to pay and phony charge. The caller had used a program to make the caller ID display NGEMC’s name and phone number.
Donations are being accepted for a Chattooga County woman who has received a new liver. Connie Bowman, a lifelong resident of Chattooga County, was able to receive the liver last weekend at an Atlanta hospital. Connie and her husband, Barry Bowman, operate B&B Auto Glass on Highway 48 in Summerville, across from Mason Funeral Home. Donations towards Connie’s medical bills are being accepted at Dirt Down Deli in Gore.
