Here is the latest arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office for Sunday, January 26, 2025:
A chilly start greeted residents of Northwest Georgia this morning, with temperatures dipping into the 20s across the northern part of the state. However, a warming trend is set to take over as the day progresses, with highs expected to reach the 50s and 60s.* The Georgia weather forecast indicates that today will be the warmest day seen in quite some time, as moisture from the Gulf of Mexico begins to filter back into the region. As cloud cover spreads, residents can expect rain to move in tonight, likely around or just after midnight. Forecasts suggest that total rainfall amounts will be light, generally accumulating to about half an inch. Weather patterns indicate that a shortwave digging through the polar jet into the Great Plains will contribute to this change, enhancing the jet streak over the Southeast. This evolution in weather dynamics will allow for showers to initially develop in the Arklatex region and gradually spread eastward, impacting Georgia by midnight. While rain will dominate the night, it may mix with a few snowflakes in the higher elevations of north Georgia during the early morning hours. Fortunately, no accumulation is expected, and the rain is anticipated to taper off from north to south through the afternoon.
