Joni and Friends, an international disability ministry with an office in Buford, Georgia, is actively recruiting volunteers for its annual Family Retreat, which will be held in May. Founded by renowned Christian leader Joni Eareckson Tada, the organization looks to serve Georgia residents with a Family Retreat held in May.

In a recent social media post, the Extension Service declared, “Heard that some of y’all want to get rid of ‘Bradford’ pear trees. We’re on board!”.
Trion High School is celebrating Miss Mollie Edge as their Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Christian Athlete of the Year. The announcement, released by Trion City Schools System Athletic Director Jason Lanham, highlights Edge’s exceptional character and dedication. “Mollie is a remarkable young lady and a tremendous role model both on and off the athletic field,” Lanham stated. “She genuinely cares for others and is the type of student athlete that all schools would envy.” Edge’s athletic prowess is well-known throughout Trion, with significant success in both softball and soccer. But her contributions extend far beyond her achievements on the field. Demonstrating a commitment to service, Edge also serves as a team manager for the Trion High School wrestling team. “Her success in softball and soccer are well known throughout Trion. This alone would leave a lasting impact on our school but she also shows her true servant’s heart by being a manger for the wrestling team,” Lanham explained. Trion High School and the FCA recognize and appreciate Edge’s dedication and positive influence. The Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park are inviting outdoor enthusiasts to explore the park’s fascinating history and unique geology on a guided hike to the Marble Mine on April 5th at 10:00 AM. This moderately strenuous 1.5-mile hike, led by park rangers, will delve into the geological wonders and rich history of Sloppy Floyd State Park. Participants will learn about the formation of the park’s iconic landscape while venturing along the Marble Mine Trail. Hikers should meet the rangers at the park office before embarking on this informative and engaging trek. Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water for the journey. Mega Millions will introduce several changes next month, including new ticket prices, jackpots, and improved odds of winning. The 2025 Wings Over North Georgia Air Show is scheduled for October 17th through 19th at the Russell Regional Airport in Rome, and tickets are selling quickly. This year’s headliner is none other than the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, who will be thrilling audiences with their precision flying on Saturday and Sunday. Adding to the spectacle, a special twilight show complete with dazzling fireworks will kick off the weekend on Friday evening. With anticipation building for the event, John Cowman, President of JLC Airshow Management, is urging the public to purchase their tickets now to avoid disappointment. “We anticipate an early sell-out this year,” Cowman stated. The Blue Angels are expected to wow the crowds with their impressive aerial maneuvers in their F/A-18 Super Hornets. Their appearance at Wings Over North Georgia is one of the final stops on their 2025 air show season, which began earlier this month.
