Gaylesville Woman Arrested On Drug Charges In Rome

A 63-year-old woman from Gaylesville, Alabama, was arrested on drug-related charges earlier this week following a routine traffic stop on Highway 411 near Dodd Boulevard. According to records from the Floyd County Jail, Ethel Frances Jeter was pulled over by Floyd County Police when a K9 officer alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in her vehicle. During a subsequent search of Jeter’s car, authorities discovered a quantity of Alprazolam pills located in her purse, which were not stored in their original container. As a result of the findings, Jeter now faces multiple charges, including possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drugs not in their original container, and allowing an unlicensed individual to operate a vehicle. Jeter’s case underscores ongoing concerns regarding drug possession and vehicle safety in the region. Jeter is currently being held at Floyd County Jail.

Tractor Trailer Accident Snarls Christmas Eve Traffic On Rome Boulevard In Summerville

A tractor trailer accident in Summerville snarled traffic early on Tuesday morning.  The Georgia State Patrol was rerouting traffic around the accident on Highway 27, Rome Boulevard, in Summerville near the Summerville Montessori School for a period of time while emergency responders and utility companies worked the accident.  A preliminary report has not been released yet by the Georgia State Patrol, but state troopers confirmed to WZQZ News that a Mohawk truck was involved.  Chattooga County EMA / 911 said that Windstream / Kinetic was in the area after the accident repair lines that had been pulled down during the accident.  WZQZ will have more information on the accident when a report is released by the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office.
