Georgia DOL: Unemployment Rate 3.7% Statewide

GSP Investigates Accident Near McDonald’s In Summerville

The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome is investigating an accident that happened on Wednesday evening in Summerville on Highway 27, near the Summerville McDonald’s.  According to a preliminary report from the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, troopers responded to the accident shortly after 7 PM, and determined that a Ford F-350 pickup truck struck a Chevrolet Cavalier in the rear. The accident occurred in the outside Northbound lane. Two passengers from the Cavalier were transported to AtriumHealth Floyd Medical Center in Trion with minor injuries.  The driver of the F-350 was cited as a result of the investigation. More details will be available when a full report is released by the Georgia State Patrol.

Bank Fraud Reported To Summerville Police

Summerville Police say that a 24-year-old man came to the police department this week to report unauthorized activity on his checking account at United Community Bank.  The victim told police that someone had used his account twice and spent $4,000 at Ashley Home Furnishings in Kennesaw and had made a purchase with the luxury apparel online site, “My Theresa”.  The victim requested a report from the police department to document the fraud.
