Centre, Alabama Man Charged With Auto Thefts In Georgia

Phillip Keith McCollum, 48 of Centre was arrested in Rome, Georgia after reports said he stole four vehicles from a home on Cunningham Road.

Police said that McCollum stole a 1979 Subaru, 1973 Chevy Impala, 1980 Buick Regal and a 1970 Ford Galaxy.

He stands accused of taking those vehicles to the scrap yard – and selling them for $1,501.

McCollum is charged with felony Theft by Taking.

GDA Issues Grants For Dog & Cat Sterilization Program

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper announced that the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) has issued grant awards for the 2024 Dog & Cat Sterilization Program (DCSP). The Department received nearly 170 applications and issued 93 awards between $1,000 and $20,000 based on each applicant’s needs. The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s DCSP Grant helps reduce the strain of overpopulation on Georgia’s animal shelters by providing financial assistance for low-cost spay/neuter programs in communities across the state. The DCSP received $800,000 in funding for Fiscal Year 2024.

NCMEC Seeks Public’s Assistance In Finding Missing Georgia Teen

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing 16-year-old, Alicia Pope.

Alicia was just 15 years old when she went missing from Conyers, Georgia on February 24, 2024. It has been over four months since Alicia disappeared, and authorities believe she may stay in the local area or travel to Hampton, Georgia. Alicia is described as 5’6”, weighs 150 lbs., and has brown eyes and brown hair.

In an effort to bring more attention to Alicia’s case, her poster will be displayed on gas pumps throughout Georgia as part of a partnership between NCMEC and GSTV.
