Mr. Arnold Spencer, age 72, of Hall’s Valley Road-Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, afternoon at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Campton, Kentucky on December 17, 1939, He was a son of the late John and Evelyn Collins Spencer. Mr. Spencer was retired from the Maintenance Department of Shaw Industries. Surviving are His wife-Barbara Spencer; daughters-Sandra Wilson of Tip City, Ohio and Lisa Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; sons-Stacy Spencer of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Scotty Spencer of Raleigh, N.C., and Steve Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; Nine Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive. MRS. MARGARET L. WARREN, age 89, of Bittings Avenue-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Floyd County, Georgia on August 5, 1922. Mrs. Warren was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by Her first husband the late Paul Easter. Surviving are husband Austin Warren, Jr.; daughter-Paula Easter of Summerville; grandson-Paul & Melissa Chamlee of Summerville; great granddaughter Avri Rose Chamlee; step daughter Denise Wyatt; step grandson-Stacy (Rick) Wyatt; step great grandson-Will Wyatt; sister-Betty Hendrix of Summerville; brothers-Earl Alred of Rome, James Alred of Summerville,and Eugene Alred of Colorado Springs, Colorado; several Nieces and Nephews. MRS. CORA I. TUCKER, age 88, of the Alpine Community, Menlo, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, afternoon at Her home. She was born in Trion, Georgia February 13, 1924, daughter of the late W.H. and Dora Rape Spraggins. She was a lifetime member of the Alpine Community Church graduating from Menlo High School in 1942, where she played on the girls basketball team. She was a retiree of the sample department of Best Mfg. Company. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, the late Roy Lesley Tucker; a grandson, Brian Avery Tucker; sisters, Ruth Della Monica, Charlsie Mae (Charlie) Miller, Louise (Shug) Martin, Beatrice (Pete) Hall; brothers, Julius (Duke) Spraggins, D.W. (Bawdy) Spraggins, Andrew (Snowball) Spraggins, and D.F. (Sike) Spraggins. Surviving are sons & daughters-in-law-Dennis & Jeannie Tucker and Ralph & Martha Tucker all of Menlo; grandsons-Shane Tucker, Jason & Rebecca Tucker all of Menlo; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mr. Hubert Almon “Sam” Pruitt, age 83, of Mentone, AL passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Pruitt was born in Jamestown, AL on September 4, 1928, son of the late General Filmore Pruitt and Gladys Cavin Pruitt. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was employed with Riegel Textile Mill and was a farmer. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Pruitt; a brother, Leon Pruitt and a sister, Eloise Magnusson.
Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife; Louise Pruitt; son and daughter-in-law, Hershel and Sandra Pruitt; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Kerce and Vickie and Gary Carlisle; sister and brother-in-law, Ludain and Mack Gilreath; grandchildren, Heather Pruitt, Renee Pruitt, Katie Kerce, Christopher Kerce, Sarah Kerce, Katie Smith, Allen Gray, Kelsey Carlisle, Garrett Carlisle, Gary Carlisle, Jr., and Kim Bishop; great grandchildren, Joseph Ellis, Macey Gray, Isaac Gray, Ellie Bishop, and Wyatt Bishop.
Funeral Services for Mr. Pruitt will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Little River Church Cemetery.
Mr. Pruitt will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 P.M.

MR. BILLY JOE CROY, SR., age 74, of Espy Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, afternoon following an extended illness. A native of Trion, Georgia, He was born to the late Allen Lester and Mary Frances Bailey Croy on June 12, 1937. Mr. Croy was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church , a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korean Conflict, and was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by a son the late Billy Joe Croy, Jr.
Surviving are His wife, Betty Jo Croy; sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Wanda Croy of Trion and James & Lucy Croy of Calhoun; sister-Maggie Fox of Trion; brother-Earl Croy of Summerville; grandchildren-Joseph Croy, Kevin Croy, and Amanda & Justin Brown; great granddaughter-Ella Brown.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Sumner and Rev. Jessie Bankson officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Karen “Kay” Reynolds Tallent, age 48, of Summerville, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Rome, Georgia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Tallent was born in Rome, Georgia on September 17, 1963, daughter of Cecil Reynolds and June White Reynolds. She was a member of the Four Mile Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Tallent was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lon and Alice Reynolds and her maternal grandparents, Rev. A.N. and Linda White, and a nephew, Daniel Tyler Reynolds.
Mrs. Tallent is survived by her husband, David Tallent; daughter, Courtney Tallent; son, Chris Tallent; parents, Cecil and June Reynolds; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Zeta Reynolds; and a number of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 28, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Kelley, Rev. Joel A. Smith, and Mr. Jeff Greenway officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Bethel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Adair, Lewis Adair, Jeff Greenway, Greg Greenway, Benny Morgan, and Gabe Tallent. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Four Mile Baptist Church.
