Mr. Johnny Jones Obit

Mr. Johnny Jones, age 74 of Silver Circle, Summerville, GA passed away Thursday,

July 14, 2011 at his residence.  Mr. Jones was born in Summerville, GA on July 15, 1936. 

 He was retired from Mount Vernon Mills with 43 years of service and was co-owner of India

Pride Variety.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and singing at church.   He was a member of

the Quarter Century Club.  Mr. Jones was a member and chairman of Deacons of the

Harrell Street Church of God.

   Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Jones; daughter, Velenia

Kennett; father and mother, Charlie and Birdie Mantooth Jones; sisters, Lorene Taylor and Mary

 Petty; and brother, Buddy Jones.

   Survivors are wife, Pat Jones of Summerville, GA; daughter, Debra (Jessie) Crider of Rome,

GA, sons, Johnny Franklin (Marlene) Jones of Dallas, GA and Sonny (Devin) Jones of Harlan,

KY; daughter, Charene Jones of Rome, GA; step-daughter, Kimberly Vaughn of Summerville,

GA; step-son, Kevin Michael Vaughn of Ringgold, GA; step-son, Kristopher (Cassandra) Vaughn

 of Summerville, GA; step-son, Kippy (Melissa) Vaughn of Lyerly, GA; grandchildren, Amanda

(David) Short, Shetta (Chris) Taylor, Tyron (Amber) Eaton, Kristi Niece, Josh Eaton, Austin

(Whitney) Kennett, Gracie Sisk, Olivia Sisk, Jamie (Robin) Vaughn, Brian Stoker, Nicole Stoker

 (Devin Riddle), Kerrie Vaughn, Samantha Vaughn, Michael Vaughn, Tyler Vaughn, Taylor

Vaughn, Kaylie Vaughn, Kristen Williams, Dakota Marks, and Gabe Vaughn;

   Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Harrell Street

 Church of God with Rev. Denny Smith and Rev. Kenny Payne officiating.  Interment will be in

 Greenhills Memory Gardens.  

   Mr. Jones will lie-in-state Sunday, July 17, 2011 where the family will receive friends at the

 funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Middleton Miles "Mid" Allen, III, age 69, 0f Armuchee, GA died Wednesday, July 13, 2011
at Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Allen was born April 13, 1942 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late Middleton Miles
Allen, JR and Naomi Bowling Allen. He was a retired Union Carpenter and a member of the
Summerville Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 704 and the
Jaycee Yaarab Shrine Club. Mr. Middleton was a graduate of Darlington School and Southern
Tech. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Allen; sons, Middleton Miles Allen, IV and William Andrew
"Andy" Allenand wife, Whitney Allen; brother, Jack Allen; grandchildren, Jacob Allen, Josh
Allen, Jackson Allen, and Karsyn Allen; and 1 Great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home with
Bro. Barry Peppers officiating. Burial will be in Alpine Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be
Buddy Chisolm, Mike Woodall, Ron Edwards, Billy Cook, members of Masonic Lodge #704,
and members of the Yaarab Shrine Club.
Mr. Allen will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from
6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2001. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be
made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. James Doyle Willmon Obit

Mr. James Doyle Willmon, age 55 of Trion, GA passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Willmon was born in Rome, Georgia on May 14, 1956, son of the late James L. Willmon and Eulala Garrett Willmon. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Willmon attended the Pennville Church of Christ, was 2nd Lt. Commander of the Chattooga County Camp 507 Sons of Confederate Veterans and prior to his retirmement, was employed as Corrections Officer with Hays State Prison.
Mr. Willmon is survived by his wife, Edith Willmon; daughters, Andrea Willmon and Stephanie Willmon; sister, Lynn Norton; and grandsons, Caden Willmon Cordell and Garrett Spear.
Funeral Services for Mr. Willmon will be held Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Minister Robbie Eversole officiating. Private Interment will follow at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Mitchell, Clay Smith, Caden Willmon Cordell and Garrett Spear.
Mr. Willmon will lie in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 4:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Mr. Ronald Eugene Flippo, age 66, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Redmond
Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Flippo was born March 25, 1945 in Trion, GA, the son of the late Hencley Flippo and
Annie Lou Braddy Flippo. He was retired from Georgia Power. Mr. Flippo was a veteran of
the United States Marines, having served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Juanita Hunter Flippo; son and special friend, Brian
Matthew Flippo and Sara Beth Bender; daughter and son-in-law, April Suzanne Flippo
Queen and Gerald Queen; grandchildren, Jordan Douglas Queen and Braden Nathaniel Queen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, July 15, 2011 from the chapel of Mason Funeral
Home with Rev. Randall Smith, Rev. Billy Dempsey, and Rev. David Craven officiating.
Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery with military graveside rites to be conducted by
American Legion Shanklin-Attaway Post #5.
Active pallbearers will be Doyle King, Buford Fox, Greg Brocato, Jordan Queen, Gerald Queen,
Braden Queen, Mike Flippo, and Gary Zeigler. Honorary pallbearers will be all member of Trion
High School Class of 1964.

Mrs. Ruby G. Richardson, age 93, of Summerville, GA, passed away Wednesday July 6, 2011 in Calhoun Health Care Center.
Mrs. Richardson was born in Trion, GA on May 22, 1918, daughter of the late Pearson Andrew and Clara Belle Brown Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Eugene Buel Richardson, Sr. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her son, Eugene Buel Richardson, Jr., brothers Robert Greene, Fred Greene and Daniel Greene, grandchildren, Robin Wooten, Van Richardson, Steve Stafford, great-grandchildren, Briana Upton, Natalie Stafford, Nicole Stafford.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson will be held Friday, July 8, 2011 at 3:30 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Bubba Cardin and Rev. Phillip Minter officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Molee “Mo” Hawkins, age 78, of Summerville, GA passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 in a Rome Hospital. She was born June 17, 1933 in Valley Head, Alabama, a daughter of the late Joel Brooks and Mae Atkins Clark. She was a Retail Sales Clerk and member of South Summerville Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby F. Hawkins, Daughter and Son-in-law Leah and Darrell Skinner, Jr. of Summerville; Sons- Terry Q. Lewis of Buxton, N. C. and Scotty Lewis of Summerville. Grandchildren- Chalee’ Skinner, Trent Skinner, Chris Lewis. Great Grandchildren- Halle Chalee’ Lively. Special Friend Gary Floyd.

Funeral services will be Wednesday evening, July 6, at 8:00 P. M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor David Craven, Pastor Jimmy Bryant, Pastor Kenneth Summey, Pastor Joel Smith and Mr. Gary Floyd officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in West Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Anthony Bryant, Carlton Reynolds, Stan Reynolds, Phil McGuire, Arnold Kilgo, Mike Simpson, O. W. Carpenter and Windell Carver. Mrs. Willie June Stowe Rider, age 91 of 79 Marsh Avenue, Trion, GA passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at  her residence.  Mrs. Rider was born June 21, 1920 in Trion, GA.  She was a housewife and a member of the Trion First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rider was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Rider; father and mother, Charlies and Octavia Elsberry Stowe; her sons, Jerry Rider, Jackie Rider, Jimmy "Bo" Rider, and Joey Rider.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bartlett of Trion, GA; serveral grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held in West Hill Cemetery with Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating.  

   There will be no visitation
