Mrs. Mildred Grace Ingle, age 83, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Monday March 21, 2011 in Dekalb Hospital. Mrs. Ingle was born September 17, 1927, in Cherokee County Alabama, the daughter of the late Judson and Hester Stancil Brown. She was a home maker and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church #1.

Survivors include her husband to whom she was married for over 65 years, Albert Ingle, son, Gwynne Ingle, daughter, Rebecca Whisenant, grandchidlren, Kristy Cash, Monica Whisenant, Trent Whisenant, great-grandchild, Carol Ann Cash, sisters, Ann Wood, Pat Harris, Darthene Phillips, brothers, Gerald Brown, Sammy Brown, Dennis Brown, and serveral nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 23, 2011, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Berry, and Rev. George Moses officiating with interment in the Moseley Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Stanley Koonce, Larry Ferguson, Gene Agan, Eugene Brown, Patrick Strawn, Richard Brown. Honorary pallbeares will be nieces and nephews. Mrs. Susan Gayleen Croft Parish, age 52 of Trion, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Cartersville Medical Center.

Mrs. Parish was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on June 3, 1958, daughter of Gaynell Ferguson Burke and the late Ollie Ray Croft. She was of the Baptist faith and was employed in the Finishing Lab at Mt. Vernon Mills for over 27 years. Mrs. Parish was a member of the Quarter Century Club and a recipient of the Z.D. Award.

Mrs. Parish is survived by her husband, Lloyd Parish of Trion; children, Justin Anthony Parish of Sylvania, AL and Gayla Marie Parish of Trion; mother and step-father, Gaynell and Charles Burke; brothers, Earl Croft of Pennville, Naol Croft of Sylvania, AL, and Darrell Croft of Trion; mother-in-law, Phyllis Parish; 7 grandchildren, Kamden, Lexi, Kaitlyn and Gabby Parish, Joshua, Landon and Ayden Wilson and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Parish will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Helton officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity “Burnt Church” Cemetery.

Mrs. Doris Mildred Raughton, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Raughton was born December 24, 1926 in Dekalb County, AL, the daughter of the late Noah Franklin and Liza Jane Bowman Burnett. Mrs. Raughton was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. J. Raughton.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Roanld and Rita Raughton, Dalton, GA, and Edwin Raughton, Summerville, GA; daughter and sons-in-law, Jill and Jim Smith, Summerville, GA, Barbara and James Dover, Trion, GA, and Alesia and James Stitt, Fort Valley, GA; sister, Dora Kunzel, PA; brothers, Junior Burnett, Newnan, GA, and Leonard Burnett, Summerville, GA; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren.

Mr. James Pierson Tingle, age 60, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Tingle was born March 8, 1951 in New Brunwick, NJ, the son of the late James Melvin and Sarah Bailey Tingle. He was a carpenter with Brewster Construction. Mr. Tingle was a devoted member of Perennial Springs Baptist Church where he served as an usher, a Sunday School Teacher , and Brotherhood Director. Mr. Tingle was a veteran of the United States Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Brewster; stepson, Joey Brewster, granddaughter, Kelsea Brewster; brother, Michael Tingle; sisters and brother-in-law, Susan & Peter Moser, Dee Antos, and Beverly Schmoyer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail and Richard Echols; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Perennial Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow in Perennial Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Nora Lee Lewis VanPelt Hartline, age 92, of Gaylesville, AL died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Cherokee Medical Center.

Mrs. Hartline was born February 19, 1919 in Cherokee County, AL, the daughter of the late Lucian and Lizzie Crye Lewis. Mrs. Hartline was retired from Gaylesville School Lunch Room. She was a member of the Blanche United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Sarah Lee Smith and husband, Maurice Smith, Gayle Johnson and husband, Jimmy Johnson, Dow VanPelt and wife, Barbara VanPelt, Lewis VanPelt and wife, Christy VanPelt; grandchildren, Mike Smith, Mark Smith, Lee Smith, Sarah Lynn Thompson, John Dow VanPelt, Jim VanPelt, Daniel Johnson, and Hope Deal; and great grandchildren, Patrick Smith, Matthew Smith, Blake Smith, Andrew Smith, Savannah Smith, Paul VanPelt, Katlyn VanPelt, Ross VanPelt, Hannah VanPelt, Coleton Johnson, Conner Thompson, Macayne Thompson, and Andreah Deering.

MR. WILLIAM D. ELROD, age 55, of Fayetteville, Georgia formerly of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday afternoon in a Rome hospital following a sudden illness. A native of Chattooga County, Georgia He was born on July 29, 1955, and was the only child of the late Ralph W. and Ada Margaret Duff Elrod. Mr. Elrod was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia and a real estate agent for the ERA Sunrise Group.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 20th, at 4:00 P.M. from the New Hope Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Georgia. MRS. GLADYS PAULINE BROWN THOMAS age 93 of Trion died Tuesday March 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Ann Sosebee. Survived by a daughter Georgia Mae Adams, Trion, sons Rubin Ray Sosebee, Allen M. Sosebee both of Trion, Kenneth R. Sosebee, Cleveland, TN, Robert W. Thomas, Jr. Trion, sisters Mamie Parker, Trion, Grace Houser, AL, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Robert Dairl Price, age 90, of Trion, GA died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Price was born July 10, 1920 in Trion, GA the son of the late Jack and Sarah Roach Price. He was retired from Ford Motor Company. Mr. Price was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in WWII in Europe, Germany, France, and Belgium. He served as Civil Defense Director for 25 years. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Catherine Townsend Price.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Marty Price.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton and Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at West Hill Cemetery with the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion Honor Guard providing full military honors.
