Mrs. Christine Carver, age 82 of Gaylesville, passed away Wednesday, March 2^nd, at her residence.

Funeral services will be 10: AM Friday, March 4^th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating; burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8: PM Thursday.

Pallbearers include Jordan Hamilton, Joshua Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, Ricky Black and Donnie Mackey.

Survivors include daughter, Sue (Larry) Black; sons, David (Eva) Bowman, Stanley (Teresa) Carver and Larry (Sarah) Carver; grandchildren, Sheri (Robert) Hamilton, Kristi Black, great granddaughter, Victoria Slayton; great grandsons, Jordan & Joshua Hamilton; other grandchildren, Darla, Lori, Karen, Melissa, Missy, Crystal, Ashley, Heather, Anna, Brandon, Daniel, Michelle and Kathy.

Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carver; son, Steve Bowman and daughter, Cindy West.

Mrs. Carver was a native of DeKalb County, the daughter of the late Buford & Nora Aaron and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

MR. HENRY L. “Buddy” WOOTEN, age 71, of Willow Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday evening, February 28, 2011, in a Rome hospital. Born in Rainesville, Alabama on March 6, 1939, He was a son of William Rother and Lillie Belle Willoughby Wooten of Summerville. Mr. Wooten attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Best Mfg. Company, Finishing Department. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Martha Elaine Reynolds Wooten, a sister the late Carol Helton, and brothers- the late Truman Wooten and the late Billy Fayne Wooten.

Mrs. Irene Barrett Evans Marbutt, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Marbutt was born June 29, 1926 in Chattooga County, GA the daughter of the late John Barrett and Leila Mae Walters Barrett. She was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church and a homemaker. Other than her parents, Mrs. Marbutt was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Evans; her second husband, Rufus Marbutt; and grandchildren, Austin Boothe and Ethan King.

Mrs. Marbutt is survived by a son, James W. "Jimmy" Evans, JR and wife, Patricia Ann Evans; sister, Clara Warren and husband, Brimp Warren; grandchildren, Angela Fuller, Amelia Evans, and Alicia Jones; 6 Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Hayes, Daniel Smith, Sebastiano Cavallo, Quentin Jones, Mike King, Lee Caylor, and Charles Carden. Marjorie W. Bean, 84 of Lakeland, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 due to heart failure. She was born December 8, 1926 in Trion, Georgia to Jim and Ella (Stiles) Wardlaw and moved to Lakeland in 1969 coming from Jekyll Island, Georgia. Marjorie was a devoted partner to her husband, Tommy, mother, grandmother and homemaker and was member of The First Baptist Church at The Mall.

Her dedication to her Life’s Mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ was exemplified through Christian Womens Club and counseling at Compassion House. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Lewis Tommy Bean who resides in Lakeland; her daughter, Tina (Walter) Brown of Lakeland; her son, Andy (Debbie ) of Lakeland and her grandchildren, Heather and Amanda Brown, Lauren Bean Cushenbery, Lindsay Bean and Jordan Bean Rayburn. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Monday at the Lakeland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Tuesday at the First Baptist Church at The Mall with interment services following at Lakeland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Margaret Ruth Morgan, age 91, of Chickamauga, GA, passed away Saturday February 26, 2011, in Dalton, GA. Mrs. Morgan was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Lizzie Day Adamson. She was a home maker and preceded in death by her husband Alvin Morgan. Survivors include her Special Friends and Care Givers, Doris & Jimmy Allen, William & Lacey Allen, Brianna Allen, Jana & Jimmy Blaze Allen, Christa Allen, Melissa Allen, Selena Allen, a sister, Maire Adamson. Funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 28, 2011 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Gentry officiating with interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Mrs. Morgan will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour on Monday.

Mrs. Louise Maggie Middleton, age 64, of Crestview, FL, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at North Okaloosa Medical Center.

Mrs. Middleton was born on July 26, 1946 in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Odis Lee and Maggie Irene Battles Mitchell. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Middleton is survived by her husband, Dale W. Middleton, daughters, Sheila Stanfield, Elizabeth Townsend, and Kimberly Mullis, and brothers, C.L. Mitchell and Billy Frank Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2011 from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. MR. JIMMY C. “BIG JIM” STRICKLIN, SR., age 69, of Wild Life Lake Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday morning, February 24, 2011, in a Rome hospital. Mr. Stricklin was born January 3, 1942 in Savannah, Tennessee, a son of the late Sam C. and Frances Wisdom Stricklin. He was owner and operator of Jim’s Used Cars and was Baptist by faith. Besides his parents, Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by three brothers- William Dewey Stricklin, Sammy J. Stricklin, Sr. and Grant J. Stricklin.

Surviving are his wife Janice Stricklin, two daughters- Jami Stricklin and Josette Stricklin Radford both of Summerville; Three sons and daughter-in-law- Jimmy C. Stricklin, Jr. of Summerville; Jonathan and Tonya Stricklin of Rock Spring, GA,; and Jason Stricklin of Summerville. Two Sisters- Molly Ragan and Shirley Willingham both of Summerville. One brother and sisters-in-law- James W. & Rachel Stricklin of Leesburg, AL and Peggy A. Stricklin of Summerville. Twenty Six Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Rutledge and Rev. Tom Russell officiating, interment in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Sam Stricklin, Chad Stricklin, Eddy Willingham, Mike Clem, Eddie Bramlett and Earl Bramlett. Mrs. Sherlene Trammell Carroll, age 54, of Lyerly, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Carroll was born in Trion, GA on October 12, 1956, daughter of the late Willie Trammell and Ailene Walters Trammell. She had been employed with Wiretech Industries and enjoyed being with and helping raise her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carroll preceded in death by her brothers, Jr. Trammell and Sherman Trammell.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy Trammell, Summerville, Mark Shane & Kim McGuire, Summerville, and James & Freida Howell, Trion; step-sons, Robbie & Lisa Carroll, Trion, and Lance & Amanda Carroll, Armuchee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Trammell, Joe and Charlene Trammell, and Ernest and Dale Trammell all of Trion; sister, Evalene Trammell (Eddie Williams); grandchildren, Devon McGuire, Levi McGuire, Dylan Ward, Ashley Howell, Bella Howell, Courtney Trammell, best friends Evelyn & David Ward, nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carroll will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Carver officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
