MS. BRENDA FAYE ROUNSAVILLE BURKS – Age 73, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at a local health care.
MR. BRITTANY DEWAYNE THURMAN – Age 41, – of Rome, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Floyd Medical Center. He was a member of Queens Chapel Independent Church, and was preceded in death by his father, James Frank Thurman, grandparents, James Thurman and Myrtle Thurman, James Mostiller and Willie Mostiller, brother, Steven Thurman.
He is survived by his mother, Glenice Elaine Mosteller Thurman, son, Brittavious D. Thurman, brother, Christian (Michelene) Thurman of Rome, Georgia; sister, Kira (Kurt) Lowrey of Cartersville, Georgia; Crystal (Erica) Roberts of North Carolina; uncles, Sam (Kimberly) Mosteller of Atlanta, Georgia; Dan Mosteller of Summerville, Georgia; and Michael (Sandra) Allen of Cartersville; Vernon (Sandy) Thurman of Summerville; Jerry (Bernice) Allen of Atlanta; aunts, Brenda Williamson, Robin Williams, Pamela (Warren) Albert, and Mary Thurman of Summerville; great aunts, Frankie Shropshire and Joan Terrell of Rome; devoted friends, Tabitha Bankston, Kyle Riley, Eric Allen, LaBresha Bankston, and a host of nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:00 P. M. at Queens Chapel Independent Church, 105 Johnson Street, Kingston, Georgia with Pastor Homer Printup, and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour. Interment, Floyd Memorial Garden. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.

Mr. Olin Sydney Brown, age 92, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at his residence.
Mrs. Mitzi Nerise Chamlee-Jordan, age 53, of Summerville, GA, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Jordan was born November 16, 1964, in Atlanta, GA. She was retired as a Nursing Assistant with Sunshine Place. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Willingham.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband, Cary L. Jordan; sons, Tyler Chamlee and Jonathon Lewis, a sister, Terri Kirk; grandchildren, Kyler Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Leigh Jackson, Gunner Lewis, and Sadie Lewis.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jordan will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2018, at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Shaver officiating.

Mr. Wayne Leon Pettyjohn, age 64 of the Spring Creek Community, passed away Wednesday, May 02, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Pettyjohn was born in Trion, Georgia on February 2, 1954, son of the late Luther Dewitt Pettyjohn and Nettie Ruth Keasler Pettyjohn. He was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church, where he was active in the church choir. Mrs. Gloria Patricia “Patsy” Floyd, age 68, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Dedra Ann Kever Strickland, age 73 of Summerville, GA passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Rossville. She was born in 1944 in Tallassee, Florida to the late Major Luther Davis and Dorothy Inez Kyle Kever of Hosford, FL. She was married to the late Kenneth H. Strickland on August 2, 1969 and moved to Chattanooga in 1979 where her husband attended Tennessee Temple University. The couple worked in church ministry in Tennessee and moved to Summerville in 2011. Ms. Strickland was a member of New Haven Baptist Church where she taught the Ladies Sunday School Class and visited with the Ladies Sunshine Group. Dedra is survived by her sons; Kenneth Andrew Strickland and Daniel Hugh Strickland, and her grandchild; Kaedee Joy Strickland. Funeral services for Mrs. Strickland will be 2:00 Thursday- May 3 at New Haven Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Madaris officiating. Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 4, 2018, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Daniel Strickland, Zack Ballard, Brent Madaris, and Andrew Strickland serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Bethune was born in Hamilton, Alabama on April 23, 1932, daughter of the late James Monroe Howell and Nicie Sumner Howell.
