Mr. Thomas Britt Carter Obit (M)

God delivered Thomas “Britt” Carter to this earth on September 5, 1968.  That was the day that an angel came to earth.  God needed Britt to come back to Heaven on September 19, 2013.  My most giving and loving partner, father, son, brother, and friend, slipped from my arms to God’s arms to enter forever peace.  He came to show the world that true beauty comes from within, and it’s about simple kindness and strength of character, loving yourself and others with an open heart.  This is pure love.  These are the gifts that God brought him to the world to share.  Now is the time God wants these gifts to be truly realized.  He was the most beautiful person inside and out.  His light, love, and laughter are a true witness to Jesus Christ.  He had an infinite love for his friends.  Britt had the most vibrant personality and giving heart of any angel on earth.  Britt overcame many obstacles in his short life, always reaching out for new and exciting adventures.  He said his greatest achievement had been reached when he had the wonderful experience of becoming Emma and Gracie’s father on April 5, 2002, and June 16, 2003.  His generosity to all who had the pleasure in sharing his day to day life will always be remembered.  Britt never met a stranger and had friends all over.  He always said that he knew what unconditional love was, because this is what Robin gave him. Britt was a special education teacher that had a passion for his profession.  He loved to be in the classroom teaching.  Without Britt, our hearts are broken and our tears endless, but our memories and joys are immeasurable.  His laughter and smiles will never leave our memories. We will continue to see Britt in his daughters’ beauty and personalities.  We will cherish every second spent with him and try to continue the dreams he had for Emma and Gracie’s future. Britt leaves behind on earth his beautiful forever princesses, and a loving partner of 26 years.

Britt leaves behind on this earth for a little while, his loving partner, Robin Patterson, two daughters, Emma and Gracie Patterson-Carter; Britt’s dad and mom, Gene and Judy Carter; two sisters, Jill Spears and Lisa Cordell; one brother, Jamie Carter; nieces and nephews; his extended family, Susie Smith, Mike Bates, Terry and Corrie Patterson, Janie Barnes, Randy Patterson, Jackie and Johnny Barnes, Jennifer Barnes, Rachael Carlyle, and Gary Barnes.

Britt will lay in state at the Mason Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 6:00 until 8 P.M.  His final farewell will be at 3:30 P.M. Monday, September 23, 2013, at the Alpine Church in Menlo, GA.  Pastor Ailene Mosteller will deliver the final farewell speech.
