Ms. Sarah Dallas Obit

Ms. Sarah Elizabeth Dallas – Age 60 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, OCtober 21, 2010 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Bozzie Lee Daniel, brothers, Mr. William Daniel, Mr. David Daniel and sister Ms. Gloria Daniel.

Survivors are her loving family, two daughters, Ms. Stephanie Charlene Dallas, Ms. Charity Shvon Dallas; mother, Mrs. Leola Adams Daniel; sisters, Ms. Leola Darlene Jackson; grandchildren, Raven Symone Dallas, Donovan Lamar Dallas, Ti’Shay Shajuan Perry, Tiyous Jaivon Dallas; aunts, Mrs. Drucilla Pollard, Mrs. Daisy Adams, Mrs. Virginia Clay, Mrs. Katherine Adams; unlce, Mr. Charlie Clay; nieces, Kimberly Williams, Frances Ware, Monalisa Adams, Desiree Pollard; other great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 2 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Roach and other ministers officiating.  The family will recieve friends at the church one hour before the service.  Her remains will lie in State at the church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.  Interment, Summerville Cemetery.

Earl James McDaniel obit

Mr. McDaniel was born June 14, 1923 in Cloudland, GA, the son of the late Bob McDaniel and Annie Jane Stoker McDaniel. He was retired from the Lookout Mountain Community Services and he was a member of the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to all who knew him. He loved his family and his church, most of all he loved his Lord and Savior. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Winnie Lee McDaniel; son, Bobby Wayne McDaniel; brothers, John McDaniel and Enoch McDaniel; sisters, Rosie Smith and Jannie M. Durham; step-granddaughter, Regina Eubanks.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy McDaniel; sons and daughters-in-law, Davis Lee McDaniel, James Timothy & Karen McDaniel, and John Anthony "Tony" & Mary McDaniel; daughters and sons- in-law, Earlene & David Elliott, Annie Sue and Phillip Murphy; step-daughters and husbands, Nancy & Jimmy Gribble, Malinda & Jay Tong, Cynthia & Eddie Wilson, Laura Stricklin and Kelvin Lovingood; daughter-in-law, Sheryl McDaniel; sister, Mary Jones; 13 Grandchildren; 3 Step-grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Penville Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. Carlos B. Martines and Rev. Charles Izell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Robert Murphy, Charles Murphy, Edwin Murphy, Shane Murphy, Robin Elliott, Justin McDaniel, C. J. Murphy, and Brett McStotts. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Malana Cook, Amber McDaniel, Shanna Ammons, step-daughters, Cynthia Wilson, Nancy Gribble, Laura Stricklin, Malinda Tong; Special Friends; members of the Encouragers Sunday School Class; and Members of the Look Out Mountain Community Service.

Mr. McDaniel will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, October 22, 2010. He will also lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

 

Mary Elizabeth Green Bullard

MRS. MARY ELIZABETH GREEN BULLARD, age 88, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday (October 19, 2010) afternoon in a Rome hospital. A native Chattooga Countian She was born to the late John Marion and Appalonia Elizabeth Duncan Green on July 18, 1922. Mrs. Bullard was a member of Lyerly First Baptist Church and along with her husband, the late John H. Bullard, owned and operated Bullard Processing Plant, formerly on the Lyerly highway-Summerville. Mrs. Bullard was also preceded in death by a nephew- the late John W. Green.

Surviving are sisters’-in-law-Lucille Green of Summerville and Doris Bullard of Piedmont, AL.; nieces-Martha Calhoun, Joyce Williams, Nancy Crowe, and Debbie Jennings; nephews-Douglas Stephens, Ronnie Stephens, Alan Green, Bob Bullard, Dennis Bullard, Steve Bullard, and Bron Love.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21st, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Christie officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery. Active Pallbearers-Marc Green, Michael Green, Warren Stephens, Chris Stephens, Zane Williams, Wess Love, Steve Bullard, Dennis Bullard; Honorary Pallbearers the Adult Sunday School Class of Lyerly First Baptist Church, Jimmy Spence, Rethia Spence, Jamie Fowler, Ann Norton, and James Bennett. Micheal Lynn Bryan obit

Mr. Micheal Lynn Bryan, age 61, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday (October 8, 2010) in Savannah, Georgia. He was preceded in death by parents-James Howard and Evelyn Wheeles Bryan, son-David Hartline, sister-Brenda Crowe, and grandparents-Mr. & Mrs. Tinney Warren and Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Bryan.

Surviving are son-Kevin McDaniel of Centre, AL.; daughters-Deborah Susan Sanchez of LaFayette, Michelle McDaniel of Centre, AL., JoAnne McDaniel Bryan of Cedar Bluff, AL.; sister-Judy Carter of Menlo; brothers-Jimmy Bryan of Flizgerand, and Ronnie Bryan of Acworth; 13 Grandchildren; several Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16th, at 1:00 P.M. CST from the Lake View Church in Cedar Bluff, AL. Visitation Saturday from noon until the hour for service.

J.C. Hatcher obit

Mr. J C Hatcher, age 78, of Summerville, GA, passed away Tuesday October 12, 2010, at Erlanger Medical Center.

Mr. Hatcher was born July 15, 1932, in Murray County, GA, the son of the late Jessie Calvin and Ida Mary Landen Hatcher. He was a retired auto repair shop owner. Mr. Hatcher was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was held as a prisioner of war for 33 months. He was was a member of the VFW Post #6688. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Craig Hatcher; a daughter, Shirley Jean Hatcher; sisters, Bonnie Bresinger and Frances Watts; and brothers, Harold Hatcher and Larry Hatcher.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy B. Hatcher; children, Ricky Lee Hatcher, Teresa Diane Lee, and Alice Darlene Martin; sisters, Evelyn Davis, Hazel Vice, and Carolyn Stewart; 6 Grandchildren; and 4 Great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, October 15, 2010 at Summerville Cemetery with Minister Robbie Eversole officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons.

Mr. Hatcher will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Friday.

Mildred Lee Lankford obit

Mrs. Mildred Lee Lankford, age 85, of Summerville, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Lankford was born November 11, 1924, in Fort Payne, AL, the daughter of the late William Hoyt and Bertie Smith Abernathy. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Lankford was preceded in death by her husband, Hopson Lankford and a sister, Vonnie Kirby.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Sarah Spicer and Sue Elliott; specal niece, Rhonda Barber, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Lyerly Cemtery with Min. Tommy Broome officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Friends are ask to assemble at the cemetery at 12: 45 p. m. on Thursday.

Mr. Robert Bowman Obit

MR. ROBERT L. BOWMAN, JR., age 83, of Perry Drive-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday (October 8, 2010) evening in a Rome hospital. A native Chattoogaian He was born to the late Robert L. Bowman, Sr. and Foye Powell Bowman on May 27, 1927. Mr. Bowman was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, a Veteran of WW II serving in the Marine Corps Aviation, and was retired Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Summerville.

Surviving are brother & sister-in-law-Evan D. and Doris Bowman of Summerville; niece-Becky Burns of Rome; nephews-Randy & Kay Bowman and Tim Suzann Bowman all of Summerville; great nieces and nephews-Kyle Bowman, Haley Bowman, Jennifer Bowman, Kelsey Bowman, Jacob Bowman, & Will Bowman; great great niece & nephew-Madison Rogers, Talen, & Noah Bowman.

Funeral services will be held Monday (October 11th) at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Mrs. Gertrude Lynette Wilbanks, age 70, of Trion, GA died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Cedar Bluff, AL.

Mrs. Wilbanks was born March 10, 1940 in Trion, GA, the daughter of Azee Bandy Bryan and the late Wert Bryan. She was a homemaker and a member of LaFayette Church of Christ. Other than her father, Mrs. Wilbanks was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Bryan.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Wilbanks; children, Tommy Wilbanks, Sherylon Smith, and Sandra McCray; mother, Azee Bryan; brothers, J. D. Bryan and Kermit Bryan; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matt Dobson, Shane Barfield, Cole McCray, Heath Wilbanks, Justin Wood, and Jeff McCray.

Mr. Anthony "Tony" Maxey, age 48, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Maxey was born July 4, 1962 in LaFayette, GA, the son of the late Bobby Joe and Mary Frances Garmany Maxey. He was employed with Apache Mills. Other than his parents, Mr. Maxey was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Joe Maxey and Greg Maxey.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Bernie Hickman; grandchildren, Dakota Hickman, MaKenzie Hickman, and Kaceon Hickman; nephew, Tanner Maxey; nieces, Shelly Maxey and Amber Maxey.
