Mr. Leo Lanier, Jr. 98 of Summerville, Georgia, Chattooga County’s last Prisoner of War, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his residence.
Mrs. Rachel Graham Smith age 77 of Summerville, GA passed away Friday – July 16, 2021 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Smith was born October 30, 1943 in Summerville, GA to the late Emory and Clara Kirby Graham.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by Cecil Graham and Ruth Ann Graham.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Smith; children, David Smith, Sandra Smith, and Cheryl Smith: sisters, Betty Kitterman and Deborah Sosine; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Mason Funeral Home.

MRS. CHARLOTTE POLLARD PERRY – Age 78, of Summerville, GA passed away Friday, July 9, 2021. She was born to the union of the late Mr. Samuel Pollard, Sr. and Mrs. Susie Ludy Pollard on July 21, 1942. She was preceded in death by both parents, sister, Ms. Cozette Rittenberry, and brother, Samuel L. Pollard, Jr. She was a member of Hemphill AME Zion Church in Summerville, Georgia.
GLENDA RUTH HUDGINS – Age 71, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Floyd Medical Center. She was born on July 2, 1950 to the late Lumas Hudgins and Rosa Mae Adams McDaniel, stepfather, Oliver McDaniel. She retired from General Motors for over twenty-seven years. She was preceded by her grandfather, Thad Adams, grandmother, Hastie Adams, sister, Eloise Rounsaville, brothers, Frederick McDaniel, and Gary Hudgins, and special friend, Harold Cooper. Glenda was a member of Pond Spring A. M. E. Church.
