MRS. JOAN ERIN COOK, age 60, of Teloga Community, Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 3, 2016.  A native of Tuscon, Arizona, She was born to the late Walter Haskell and Evelyn Rankin Haskell, who survives.  She, along with her late husband, enjoyed caring for and raising a variety of animals.  Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wayne Cook on August 29, 2004.
            Surviving are Her mother, Evelyn Rankin Haskell; sister, Katherine Riney of Phoenix, AZ.

MS. ANITA M. MCCUTCHINS – Age 50, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eula Mae McCutchins, brother, Al Ray McCutchins, and nephews, Isiah McCutchins and Trevor Montgomery.

She is survived by her children, Tracey (Ashley Adams) McCutchins, Kashka McCutchins, Jamila McCutchins, Kacaria McCutchins, and Robyn Pass; grandchildren, Johanna McCutchins, Giovanna McCutchins, Temperance Adams, and Jah’Qwuan Pass; brothers, Rogers (Jennifer) London and Tracey (Sandy Slayton) McCutchins; sisters, Mona Lisa (Mike McGee) McCutchins, Ann (Ronald) Montgomery, Vivian (Marcus, Sr.) Wells, and Anna (Johnny Garrett) McCutchins; special nieces, and nephews, Candius McCutchins, Porsche McCutchins, Spenicer London, Quinncy McCutchins, and George McCutchins; special friends, Tracie Chaney, Mary Thurman, Arnold Henry, Walt Kirby, Big Jack Kirby, and Billy McMichael; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives, and friends.

MS. ANTONIA DELTORIA MACK – Age 53, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at her residence. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her father, Walter D. Mack, sister, Donzalle R. Palmer, and grandparents, Samuel R. and Janie Richardson.

She is survived by one son, Malachi Mack; mother, Janie E. Richardson Page of Summerville, Georgia; one sister, Angela (Terrance) Mitchell of Jacksonville, Florida; five brothers, Gary J. Richardson of Smyrna, Georgia, Danny Mack, Jr., Michael (Camesia) Mack, Kenneth Mack of Summerville, and Reginald Page of Fort Ogelethorpe, Georgia; step brothers, Demetrious Page; step sisters, Linda Thorpe of Cincinnati, Ohio and Somer Page of Summerville; aunt and uncle, Benny and Joyce Slocum of Cartersville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mrs. Joy Henderson Obit (ER)

MRS. JOY HENDERSON, age 83, of Campbell Crescent Circle, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, in a Rome hospital.  Born in Fort Payne, Alabama on March 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late C. Edward and Alline Maynard Holbrook.  Mrs. Henderson was a member of South Summerville Baptist Church and together with her husband owned and operated Eagle Mfg. and Cambridge House Furniture.

Surviving are her husband, Billy Henderson; daughter, Bonita Graham of Cleveland, TN., and granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Leming.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 5th, at 4:00 P.M. from Greenhills Memory Garden, with Pastor Stanley Smith officiating.

Retired from Best Manufacturing in Menlo, Georgia after 32 years of service.
Member of First Baptist Church in Summerville, Georgia and member of Seekers Sunday School Class.
Also attended the Chattooga Senior Center in Summerville, Georgia
Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Flossie Mae Wooten and Violet Arizona White; three brothers,  Charles Jack Ledford, Frank Ledford and Bobby Ledford.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald Minor Chandler;  three children, Susan & Randy Thompson of Canton, Georgia, Laura (Sally)  & Jeff Gamble of Armuchee, Georgia and Gary & Kathy Floyd of Cartersville, Georgia.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Melissa Thompson Riddle, Meredith Thompson Carter, Jarrod Slaton Floyd, Jamie Kristin Woodward Brown and Anna Elaine Floyd.
Ten Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in Summerville.  The funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5th, at 2:00 pm from the J.D. Hill Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Doyle Waters officiating.   Internment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Garden in Summerville.
Active pallbearers will be Jarrod Floyd, Jonathan Carter, David Riddle, Coleman Ledford, Jack Ledford and Randy Ledford.

MR. MARTIN RANDALL (RANDY) MEADOWS, age 46, of West Springcreek Road, Trion, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 30, 2015.  A native Chattooga Countian, He was born to the late Carthell Meadows and Linda Wesson Meadows, who survives.  Randy was a brick mason by trade, and had firefighter and haze mat training; He also was a natural/self taught musician.  In addition to His Father, he was preceded in death by a brother the late Robin Meadows, grandmother, the late Jackie (Meme) Wesson Stephens and numerous other family members.

        Surviving are His mother, Linda Meadows; daughter, Angel Meadows; sister, Renee Ware; brother, Davin Meadows; granddaughter, Sophia Grace Keen; girl friend, Melissa Wright; special friend, Billy Brown; aunts, Frances Ledford, Hazel Millican, & Rosemary Johnson; uncle, Charles M. Mr. John Alvin Kimbrough Obit (M)

Mr. John Alvin Kimbrough, age 71, of Lyerly, GA, passed away Friday January 1, 2016, in Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation. 

Mr. Kimbrough was born August 12, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Bill and Marie Altman Kimbrough.  He was a truck driver, and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Destiny Kimbrough. 

Survivors include his wife, Canada Faye Kimbrough, daughter & son-in-law, Betty & Joe Havens, sons & daughters-in-law, Johnny & Janet Kimbrough, James Brian & Patricia Kimbrough, Jason & Missy Kimbrough, Paul and Jennifer Kimbrough, brother, Jerry Kimbrough, sisters, Betty Walker, Clara Mae Carroll, Mary Beebee, 10 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday January 4, 2016, from Mason Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Johnson Cemetery.   Rev. Charles Wayne Holcombe will officiate. Mr. Earl Clint Barfield Obit (C)

Mr. Earl Clint Barfield, age 88, of Rome, formerly of Trion, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center. 

Mr. Barfield was born in Trion, Georgia on February 18, 1927, son of the late Clifford Ray Barfield and Neva Price Barfield.  He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps.  He retired from GE in Rome in 1992, but had previously worked at Riegel Manufacturing.  Mr. Barfield was a member of the American Legion and the VFW here in Summerville, and loved to play Poker, Slot Machines, Pool and bowl, and was an avid fisher.  He was a true family man and loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren.  Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Barfield; former wife, Betty Anne Adams; and two brothers, Kelly Barfield and James “Slats” Barfield. 

Mr. Barfield is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Marquez Whitaker and her husband, Dwayne and Trisha and Joe Bice; grandchildren, Laney Marquez Dyson, Casei Jordan Burkhalter and Preston Lee Barfield; great grandchildren, Taylor Grace Dyson, Chloe Anne Burkalter and Charlotte Corrine Burkhalter; nieces, Jan Morris, Elaine Hammond and Raye Dean Mahoney; and one great niece, Christy Hammond. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Barfield will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Hayes and Rev. Valerie Loner officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion Honor Guard conducting Military Graveside Rites. 

Pallbearers will be Joe Bice, Dwayne Whitaker, Preston Barfield, Colton Burkhalter, Joey Price, Randy Pauley and Tim Mahoney. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Summerville American Legion and VFW Post, as well as members of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. 

Mr. Barfield will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.

Evans, age 78, of 251 State St. in Summerville, Ga. transitioned December 29, 2015.  Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 200 Congress St., Summerville, GA at 2:00 pm.  The body will lie in state from 12 noon until the funeral hour.  MRS. GEVETTA U. SAMPLES, age 48, of Rocky Hollow Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 30, 2015, evening in a Rome hospital.  She was born on April 28, 1967, to the late C. D. “Tiney” Long, Jr. and Judy Jackson Long, who survives.  She was active in the family business, Judy’s Herb Shop, in Summerville and a member of Freedom Tabernacle.
            Surviving are Her husband, James Samples; Mother, Judy Long; daughter, Charletta Samples; granddaughter, Iris Lillie Samples; sisters, Melissa (Thomas) Hamilton and Retta (Stephen) Sprayberry of Summerville; brothers, Danny (Jean) Hester of Trion, Charles Daniel (Donna) Long, III, and LeBron (Corrinna) Long of Summerville; step children, Randy Pritchard, Julie Gow, Gary Pritchard, David Pritchard, Jennifer Sullivan, Marcie Samples; several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.
