Mrs. Carolyn Mae Craig, age 65, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Craig was born July 11, 1949, in Valley Head, Al, daughter of Oscar Dale Cason and Pauline Patrick Cason.  She was a member of the Trion Church of God, a loving wife, mother and mawmaw.  She  was a CNA having worked at Oakview Nursing & Rehab and retiring from Shepherd Hills Health Care, and preceded in death by a sister, Opal Daniels, 2 brothers, John Carson, and Joe Carson.

Mrs. Craig is survived by her husband, Johnny Joe Craig, daughters, Pamela Edgeman, Sheila Willingham, Barbara Wilson, brothers, Robert Cason, Sam Cason, sisters, Faye Paige, Betty Buckels, Madeline “Matt” McKinney, Margaret Reeves, grandchildren, Ashley Collins, David Wilson, Patrick Kirby, Justin Hammitt, Kaitlyn Hammitt, Johnnie Beth Wilson, Erika Willingham and great grandchild, Addison Collins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Craig will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, October 3, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddie Bell officiating.  Honorary pallbearers, Patrick Kirby, Justin Hammett, David Wilson, Cody Collins, Doug Obenoskey, Daniel Hunt.

Mr. Robert Lee “Bobby” Jay Obit (M)

Mr. Robert Lee "Bobby" Jay, age 74, of Mentone, AL, died Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his residence.
 
Mr. Jay was born June 10, 1940, in Savannah, TN, son of the late Elton Edward Jay, Sr. and Virginia Keathley Hurst Jay Covey, and was adopted at an early age after the death of his parents by the late Forrest and Gertie Hurst Morrow, the sister and brother-in-law of his mother.  He was a member of the Southport Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, IN for 30 years where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Sponsor, Deacon, and Elder.  He currently attended Howard's Chapel in Mentone, AL.  Mr. Jay was retired from Rolls Royce where he was employed as an Aeronautical Engineer.
 
Mr. Jay is survived by his wife, Mary Speed Jay; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Jennifer Jay and Ronald Pyke, and Julie Leigh Jay; a brother, Elton Jay; a sister and brother-in-law, Darryl and Eddie Perkins; grandchildren, Garvey Pyke, Fergus Pyke, Parker Jay-Pachirat, and Mia Jay-Pachirat.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Jay will be held at 2:30 P.M. (E.S.T.) Saturday, October 4, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ron Reynolds officiating.  Interment will follow in the Tate Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ron Pyke, Garvey Pyke, Fergus Pyke, Elton Jay, Rob Jay, and Mike Jay.  Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Ron Godbois, Graham Johnson, Andy Reid, Josh Godbois, Zac Godbois, Tony Coleman, and Eddie Perkins.

Mrs. Kathryn Griselda “Gris” Trammell Obit (C)

Mrs. Kathryn Griselda “Gris” Trammell, age 78, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Monday, September  29, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Trammell was born in Lyerly, Georgia on July 19, 1936, daughter of the late Frank Thomas and Jessie Lucille Durham Thomas.  She was a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church, the Joi Club of Ridgeway Baptist Church and was one of the Founders of the Saddle Club.  Mrs. Trammell retired from Trion Elementary School where she worked as a Paraprofessional.   Following her retirement, she spent her time cleaning houses.

 Mrs. Trammell was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Trammell; infant daughter, Gwyne Trammell;  daughter, Kathy Trammell; brother, Durham Trammell; and sisters, Ann Hammonds, Esma Ramirez and Marie Hasty.

 Mrs. Trammell is survived by her children, Tim Trammell, Tracy and April Trammell, Cindy and Danny Ray Bryan; brother, Wallace Thomas; Grandchildren, Carrie and Adam Lathem, Adam and Tabatha Trammell; Rankin Bryan, Haley Lloyd and Colt Trammell; great grandchildren, Chandler Lathem, Madison Lathem, Camden Page, Braylen Reeves, Kalynn Trammell and Kathryn Trammell; Special Friend, Marion Carter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Clyde Herbert Willingham, age 73, of Summerville, GA, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at his residence after an extended illness.
 
Mr. Willingham was born March 29, 1941, in Menlo, GA, the son of the late John B. Willingham and Stella Parker Willingham.  Mr. Willingham was a retired supervisor of Reichhold Chemical, a member of the Perennial Springs Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Willingham, John-Ed Willingham, sisters, Lucille Thornberry and Jackie Smith.
 
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Brooks Willingham, daughters and sons-in-law, Cindi & Pete Vaughn, Mindi Cole & Kelly Young, Kristi & Bryan Daniels, grandchildren, Sara Beth Bender, Emily Spears, Kelsy Young, Clint Daniels, Hagan Young, Courtney Daniels, great-grandchildren, Brancyn Spears, Oaklyn Young, and sisters-in-law, Irene Bishop, Wilene Bishop.

Mr. Jerry Tyrone Daniel Obit (Willis)

MR. JERRY TYRONE DANIEL – Age 67, Of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a lifelong resident of Chattooga County. He was employed with the Roper Corporation and retired from Mount Vernon Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, brother, and brother-in-law.

 

He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Sarah Joyce Daniel; two daughters, Nischa Daniel and Dana Daniel; two sons, Brandon Wooten and Brendan (Krista) Daniel;  sixteen grandchildren; mother-in-law, Sarah E. Wooten; one sister, Brenda J. Smith; three brothers, Freddie (Gwen) Christopher, Shirley Daniel, and Lonnie Christopher; brothers-in-law, Charles (Mary) Wooten, Johnnie (Merita) Wooten, Eddie (Onitha) Wooten, Leon Wooten, Randy Wooten, Billy (Charlene) McMichael, Kerrie (Shirley) Price, and Bobby (Beckie) London; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Wooten, Sue Daniel,  Francis Wooten; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Cecilia Chevremont (Peeples)

Ms. Cecilia Chevremont, age 57 of Blue Ridge, GA, formerly from Summerville, passed away on September 26, 2014 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Cecilia loved animals. She was born on September 17, 1957 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but as a young child moved to Summerville where she grew up and attended school.
 
Cecilia was preceded in death by her father, Juan Antonio Chevremont; a brother, Juan Antonio Chevremont II; a sister, Paulette Chevremont; grandparents, Paul B. Weems and Maude Weems of Summerville.
 
Survivors include her mother, Rose W. Chevremont of Chatsworth; a sister, Rosita McCamy of Chatsworth; niece and nephew, Jessica and Sammy Rich of Rome, Patrick and Jada McCamy of Chatsworth; great nieces and nephews, Noel Henry Rich, Samuel Aiden Rich, Riley Powell McCamy, and Sarabeth Rose McCamy; a special family friend, Lester Miranda.
 
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Cecilia will be held on Tuesday, September 30th, at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth with Luke Pulliam and Sandra Dalton officiating. Inurnment will be in the Summerville Cemetery.

MRS. EULA BELLE SCOGGINS, age 70, of Ramey Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, evening at her residence. She was born in Calhoun, Georgia on December 27, 1943 to the late Otis Richard and Eula Beatrice Flippo Bennett. Mrs. Scoggins was Baptist by Faith and was preceded in death by siblings, Ruby Louise Bennett, William O. Bennett, Dewey Lee Bennett, Archie B. Bennett, and Grady A. Bennett.

Surviving are Her husband, Donny Scoggins; sons and spouse, Kevin & Darlene Scoggins and Brent Scoggins; sister and spouse, Drucilla & Dewey Ragland; brother and spouse, James Robert (Bob) & Peggy Bennett; grandchildren, Brandi & Terry Eller and Jennifer & Nathan Thompson; great grandchildren, Alex Stewart, Logan Lary, Sara Thompson, and Addie Thompson; care giver, Terri Blair; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mr. James “Jim” LeRoy Crowe, age 92, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Crowe was born November 4, 1921, in Ft. Payne, AL, the son of the late  Rev. Franklin Eaton and Virgie Reece Crowe.  Mr. Crowe was a mechanic, farmer, and a member of the New Hope Independent Church. Jamestown, AL, and  was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Pauline Dempsey Crowe, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Odell Hammett, grandchildren, Dale (Vicki) Hammett, Jeff Hammett, Cindy (Billy Don) DeBerry, great-grandchildren, Meagan RuBright, Josh Hammett, Jon Hammett, Katlin Lindsey, Sidney Hammett, Lauren Hammett, Trey DeBerry, Emily DeBerry, great-great-grandchildren, Ivy RuBright, Eva Cannon, Easton Johnson, and sister-in-law, Jeneal Wilson.

MRS. JANE E. WILSON, age 84, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, afternoon at her residence. She was born in Walker County, Georgia on April 25, 1930, to the late William and Winfred Catlett Ellis. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Lorenzo “Pete” Wilson on January 1, 2010, and siblings, Dorothy Brown, Manuel Ellis, Arthur Ellis. and Coy Ellis.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Beverly Wilson; grandchildren, Kim Wilson and Lori Powell; great grandchildren, Kristen Hines and Devan Powell; great great granddaughter, Payton Sizemore; sisters, Linda Mashburn and Gail Davis; several Nieces and Nephews.
