Mr. Tommy Gayler, Obit. (P)

Thomas Ronald Gayler, "Tommy" to all who knew and loved him,

died unexpectedly April 16, 2014. Tommy was born on February

26th, 1959 in Summerville, Ga. He was living in Cedar Bluff, AL at

Weiss Lake.

Tommy leaves behind his wife Sharon, and son Matt, both of Cedar

Bluff, AL, his mother Magge and Brother, Randy Gayler, both of

Summerville, Ga, Uncle Marvin Jones, Aunt Margaret Henderson and

numerous cousins. Also friends, Milford, Beth, Larry, Jessica, Adam,

Jean, Susan and Rusty. There are many, many more that can be listed

here.

A celebration of life service will be held at Centre First United Methodist

Church in Centre, AL on April 25th at 1pm CST. Perry Funeral Home,

Centre, AL is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Terry Wayne “Moon Dog” Tapp Obit (C)

  

  Mr. Terry Wayne “Moon-Dog” Tapp, age 56 of Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Tapp was born March 31, 1958 in Summerville, GA. He was a Car Detailer-Paint and Body Man. Mr. Tapp loved to fish, hunt, watch westerns, and was Baptist by faith.
   Mr. Tapp was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Taylor“Bus” Tapp and Addie Jewel Battles Tapp; sister, Louise Camp; brothers, Robert Franklin Tapp, Randy DeWayne Tapp, and Pat Suits.
   Mr. Tapp is survived by son, Josh Tapp of Summerville, GA; daughter, Kesha Tapp of Summerville, GA; former wife, Marilyn Patterson; brothers, James and Carla Tapp of Garbin, TX and Billy Don and Tammy Tapp of Ringgold, GA; sisters, Linda and Ray Watkins of Trion, GA, Carolyn Ashley of Alto, GA, and Janice Gentry of Summerville, GA; granddaughter, Erin Tapp; nieces and nephews.  
    Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Petitt Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Pledger and Mr. Jeff Shaver officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. 
   Mr. Tapp will lie-in-state Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.     Pallbearers will be Billy Tapp, Michael Hunter, James Watkins, Hank Barnes, Brian Hunter, and Jeremy Kwaterski. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jenni Kwaterski, Lisa Cook, Jack Warren, Cheryl Rodrigues, Leon Arnold, Donald Cook, Jr, Dennis Barnes, Anthony Barnes, Pam McGraw, and Josh McGraw.

Mrs. Lois Cash Lyday Obit (M)

Mrs. Lois Cash Lyday, age 80, of Cloudland, GA died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 after
an extended illness.
 
Mrs. Lyday was born November 26, 1933 in Mentone, AL, the daughter of the late
Louis Aubrey Cash and Gladys Key Cash.  She was retired from Mohawk Industries.
She was a member of Mentone Community Church.  Other than her parents, Mrs.
Lyday was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Taylor Lyday.
 
Mrs. Lyday is survived by a daughter, Judy Lyday; sisters, Elizabeth Joyce Langston,
Clara Annette Bozeman, and Martha Hulgan.
 
Graveside and interment services will be held at 3:00 p. m. EST on Friday, April
25, 2014, at Bankhead Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tyler Meadows, Ethan Meadows, Steve Coyle, Nicholas Lind, Phil Green, Daniel Hunter, and Darvin Hulgan.
 
Mrs. Lyday will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive
friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p. m. EST on Thursday, April 24, 2014.  The family

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Willingham Wright Obit (M)

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Willingham Wright, age 81, of Menlo, GA, passed away Monday April 21, 2014, at her residence.

 

Mrs. Wright was born August 19, 1932 in Menlo, GA, the daughter of the late

Roy Willingham and Mary Sue Joines Willingham.  She was a member of Chelsea Baptist Church.  Mrs. Wright was retired from Cutters Laboratory.  Other than  her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Wesley Willingham and Donald Willingham; and sisters, Narra Jane Willingham and Mary Louise Willingham.

 

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband, Elton Wright; daughter and son-in-

law, Wanda and Bub Cooper; grandchildren, Matt Cooper, and wife, Stephanie

Cooper, Leigh Ann Cooper Kay and husband, Tim Kay; great grandson, Luke Cooper.

 

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Alpine Cemetery.  Rev. Ralph Wright and Rev. Billy Wright will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Matt Cooper, Bub Cooper, Tim Kay, Mike Wright, Ralph Wright, and Jeremy Ash.

 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at Mason Funeral Home.

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Wright, age 81, of Summerville, GA, passed away Monday April 21, 2014, at her residence.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 23, 2014 from the Alpine Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour at the Mason Funeral Home.

Mr. Walter Edward “Ed” Culberson Obit (M)

Mr. Walter Edward “Ed” Culberson, age 76, of Summerville, GA, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Culberson was born February 15, 1938, in Athens, TN, son of the late Leonard Lavern Culberson and Velma Burris Culberson.  He was a self-employed stone mason and also worked for the Chattooga County Transfer Station.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, James Wayne Culberson and Walter E. Culberson, Jr.

Mr. Culberson is survived by his wife, Wanda Louise Whaley Culberson; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Hunter and Marico Zavala; brothers, Harve Culberson and Billy Culberson; grandchildren, Jessica Culberson, Jonathan Culberson, Dustin Houser, and Amber Hunter; great-grandchild, Kayden Helms; and special friend, Chad Brown.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 20, 2014, from the Silver Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ray Teems officiating.

Mrs. Evelyn Howell Fowler Obit (M)

Mrs. Evelyn Howell Fowler, age 77, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Fowler was born April 28, 1936 in Decatur, AL, the daughter of the late Harve B. Howell and Erma May Turley Howell.  She was retired from Roper Corporation.  Mrs. Fowler was a member of Living Water Ministries.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Fowler. 

Mrs. Fowler is survived by a daughter, Becky Dover; sons, David Fowler, Billy Fowler, Steve Fowler, and Johnny Fowler; sister. Barbara; brother, Roy Howell; grandchildren, Freedom, April, Jennifer, Christina, and Amanda; great grandchildren, Dylan, Destiney, and Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Marshall Price, James Pierce, Dwayne Pierce Ronnie Croy, Brandon Croy, and Marshall Price, JR.  Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Wen and Randy Fowler.

Mrs. Mildred Williamson Obit (M)

Mrs. Mildred Williamson, age 86, of Menlo, GA died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Williamson was born July 12, 1927 in Fort Payne, AL, the daughter of the late Frank Lance and Johnnie Jackson Lance. She was a homemaker. Other than her parents, Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, James Marcus Williamson; sons, James Williamson and Milford Williamson; and a granddaughter, Regina Smith.

Survivors include sons, Charles Burgess, Gene Gazaway, Terry Gazaway, Johnny Williamson, David Williamson, and Ray Williamson; daughters, Lucille Grimes, Dorthy Bannister, Betty Jennings, Eulene Baggett, Kathy Craig, and Mary Lowrance; brother, Leroy Lance; sister, Faye Lance; 36 Grandchildren; 67 Great Grandchildren; and 19 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Pledger officiating. Burial will follow in Alpine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Gazaway, Lance Gazaway, Shawn Gazaway, Cameron Evans, Ricker Williamson, and Lebron Williamson. Mr. Edgar Dorman Bishop Obit (Good Shepherd)

Edgar Dorman Bishop, 76, of Rome passed away Wednesday morning in a local hospital following a short illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, April 18, 2014 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Skip Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Honor Guard of the Shanklin- Attaway Post 5, American Legion providing military honors. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 3 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Honor Guard of the Shanklin – Attaway Post 5, American Legion.

Mr. Richard Allan Cameron Sr. Obit (M)

Mr. Richard Allan Cameron, SR, age 67, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, April  15, 2014, at his residence.

 

Mr. Cameron was born September 7, 1946 in LaFayette, GA, the son of the late

Clarence Clayton and Arlene Jonson Cameron.  He was a former employee of

Peterson Farms. He attended Old Way Baptist Church.  Other than his parents,

Mr. Cameron was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Cameron; and

brothers, James Cameron, Thomas Cameron, and Billy Cameron.

 

Survivors include his son, Richard Cameron, JR; sisters and brothers-in-law,

Nancy and Mike Brown, Anita and Max Colbert, Carolyn and Michael Applegate,and Sue Miller; grandchildren, Tamera, Michael, Nikki, and Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p. m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Thompson officiating.  Graveside burial service will be held at 10:30 A. M. Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Eller, Bill Taylor, Joey Hall, and Wade Gilbreath. 

 

Mr. Cameron will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p. m. on Friday.  In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request memorials be made to the Gideon’s.
