Mr. Benjamin Jefferson Mosley, age 61, of 602 Warren Rd., Armuchee, GA, passed  away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Mosley was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on June 29, 1952. He was the sixth child of the late Hamp Mosley and the late Jessie Perry Mosley.

He was educated in the Chattooga County School System, and graduated an honor student. At an early childhood he joined Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was at employed at B & M Pulpwood Company, Rome, GA until he retired. Mr. Mosley was also preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Mosley.

He is survived by a special loving companion, Wanda Colley; five step-children, Eugene Colley Jr., Tammy Winston, Nikki Almond, Susan Colley and William Colley, all of Rome; five brothers, Hamp (Shirley) Mosley, Wayne (Annie Mae), Mosley, Gordon Mosley, Michael and Stanley Mosley, ; seven sisters, Jessie Starr, Paulette (James) Perry, Iris (Bishop Alex) Allen, Elaine (Steve) Owens, La’Trellial Mosey, Phyllis Price and Stacey (La’Dell) Kidd; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at  11 AM at Wright Memorial Chapel with Elder Victor Hopkins officiating. The body will lie instate at the Mortuary until the service hour. Interment and committal will  following the service. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Mr. Ralph Eugene Henry, age 88, of Haywood Valley, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Ralph Henry was born May 10, 1925, in Walker County, GA, son of the late George and Mattie Henry. He was a member of the South Commerce Street Church of Christ.  He was a member of the Cattleman’s Association, American Chestnut Foundation, GA Pork Growers Association, Paper Makers Union and was instrumental in establishing the largest backcross American chestnut test orchard in the state of Georgia.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in WWII.  Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Frances Baker Henry, son Terry Wayne Henry, and daughters-in-law, Bobbie Dial, Sheila Henry and 1 great great granddaughter.

Mr. Henry is survived by sons James Dial, Steve Henry (Joan), daughters, Brenda Kinsey (Earl), Jane Hawkins (Bob), Faye Henry, Nancy Hester (Tim), Molly  Zablan (Butch), brothers Edward and Ray Henry, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 15, 2014 at 11 am at the Mason Funeral Home chapel.  Ministers Tommy Leslie, Tommy O’Kelley and Andrew Campbell officiating with interment to follow in Greenhill Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Randy Dial, Doug Kinsey, Graham Hester, Trae Zablan, Rick Topham and Alan Campbell.  Honorary pallbearers will be the men of South Commerce Church of Christ, Randy Toles, Miles Gifford and Josh Tudor.

Mr. Henry will be in state at  Mason Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014.

Mrs. Tina Renee Goodwin, age 45, of Trion, GA died Monday, March 3, 2014 at

her residence.

Mrs. Goodwin was born August 2, 1968 in Rome, GA, the daughter of William

Taylor Croy and Nora Idella Van Pelt Croy.  She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Goodwin

was preceded in death by grandparents, Beatrice and Glenn Burton, Curtis and Bertha Van Pelt; and a daughter, Ciera Nicole Key.

Survivors include her parents, William and Nora Croy; children, Gabriel Sipes,

Taylor Sipes, and Gabrielle Sipes; and grandchildren, Malachi Key and Derek Paulison.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Mason Funeral

Mr. Lumas E. “Bud” Rampley, age 92, of Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.

Mr. Rampley was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on August 18, 1921, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Rampley. He was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Corps, and prior to retirement, was employed with Riegel/Mt. Vernon Mills as a Packing Department Supervisor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rampley was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Carol Rampley Gober.

Mr. Rampley is survived by his wife, Pauline Carrol Rampley, son-in-law, Wm. Don Gober, two grandchildren, Nathan Eugene Gober and Melissa Carol Gober all of Oxford, AL; and a nephew, John “Binky” Dawson.

Funeral Services for Mr. Rampley will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating. Private Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Ruth Morrison Locklear, age 90, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Locklear was born July 15, 1923, in Centre, AL, daughter of the late Arthur Wesley and Ruby Laveda Chitwood Morrison.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Trion First Baptist Church where she was very active for over 50 years.  Mrs. Locklear was a 1940 graduate of Lyerly High School where she was a star basketball player.  She was active in Chattooga County Extension work, was a member of the women’s V.F.W., and volunteered with the Pink Ladies Society and with Hospice, Inc.  She was retired from the Chattooga County Hospital/Oakview Nursing Home and co-owned Locklear Cleaners for more than 15 years.  She was also a self-taught piano player and lover of music.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Locklear was preceded in death by her 4 siblings, Mildred Morrison Denson, Ret. SFC Harold Herron Morrison, Sr., Lena Mae Morrison, and Katherine Morrison Bryant.

Mrs. Locklear is survived by her husband of 67 years, William “Billy” Locklear, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” Locklear, Jr. and Dora Locklear of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Joseph W. Locklear and Kathryn E. Locklear of Kennesaw, GA; step-granddaughters, Aubrey Chant of Murfreesboro, TN, and Madeline Chant of Savannah, GA; niece, Gwen Bentley of Lyerly, GA; friends, Alma Lewis, Norman McClellan, Robbie McGraw, the Dorcas Sunday School Class of Trion First Baptist Church, and the members of Trion First Baptist Church Choir.

Funeral services for Mrs. Locklear will be held at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Richard Lee Pyles, age 66 of Summerville, GA passed away Saturday, February 23, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Pyles was born in Huntington, West Virginia onMay 16, 1947, son of the late Harry Edward Pyles and Marjorie Mae Ellis Pyles. He was employed with the Trion Recreation Department as a janitor.

Mr. Pyles is survived by his wife, Toni Lynn Pyles; daughter, Christina Pyles; grandchildren, Nicholas Pyles, Savannah Pyles, and Shawn Pyles; special friend and her daughter, Gail and Linda Shaw.

Memorial services for Mr. Pyles will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home . The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

Mr. Albert Lee Rutledge, age 84 of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Rutledge was born February 22, 1930, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Walter Lee Rutledge and Sara Pilgrim Rutledge. Mr. Rutledge was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church, was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills, and was former manager of the Dixie Oil Station in Trion. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and bird hunting and sitting with his buddies on the bench at Trade Day. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Mary Lou Oakes Rutledge; brothers, Winford and Bennett Rutledge; sister, Clara Mefford; and grandson, Cody Cooper.

Mr. Rutledge is survived by wife of 64 years, Pauline Crisler Rutledge; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Robert Williams, Kim and Dennis Knight, and Jennie and Jerry Hennon; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Eda Rutledge, and Alan and Virginia Rutledge; grandchildren, Amy and Jay White, Jeremy and Marcia Hennon, Brock and Lauren Rutledge, Josh and Lindsey Rutledge, Zeke and Misty Hennon, Ryan Rutledge and Caine Rutledge; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Emily, Megan and Elizabeth Hennon, Abby and Judson White, Savannah, Sarah, Saydi, Sidney and Sylvi Rutledge; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda Rutledge, Julia Crisler, Sara Jo Crisler, and Glenda and Bob Wheeling; and a “special sister”, Lois Grogan. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Benny Woodall, age 72, of Ringgold, GA, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Woodall was born November 20, 1941, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Clarence “Slim” and Annie Lee Anderson Woodall.  He was a self-employed painter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Woodall is survived by his son, Wade Woodall; a brother, Lamar Woodall; a sister, Nola Ruth Benson; and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Woodall will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Mrs. Ila Jo Culpepper, age 81, of Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Culpepper was born June 15, 1932, in Whiton, AL, daughter of the late Alison and Berma Rains Chandler.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Dell Culpepper; and 4 brothers.

Mrs. Culpepper is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Vicki Culpepper; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Jo and Robert “Spooky” Dawson, Tammy and Jack Owings; a brother, Hoyt Chandler; sisters, Gail Wilborn, Melba Wyatt, Mozelle Penley, Lynette Parrott; grandchildren, Allison Dawson Eubanks, Shelby Warren, Shon Culpepper, Hillary Owings Carpenter, Julia Owings Park; and 10 great-grandchildren.
