Mr. Harry “Pete” Farrow, JR, Obit (M)

Mr. Harry “Pete” Ragland Farrow II, passed away Saturday March 9, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Farrow was born May 19, 1951, in Trion, GA, the son of the late Harry Ragland Farrow, Sr. and Francis Loraine Busbin Farrow. He was a 30 plus member of Celebrate Recovery and had been clean and sober for 30 plus years. He was an avid outdoorsman, master electrician, certified heat and air technician, certified cosmetologist, certified tree climber, and a loving grandfather.

Survivors include, wife, Cleta Marie Elrod Farrow; sons, Harry Ragland Farrow, III, Evan Jeremiah Elrod Farrow, and Bradley Robert Scott Crow; daughter, Tonya (Kevin) Wood; brothers, Dennis Albert Farrow, James “Bob” (Marsha) Farrow; and 6 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. from the Lyerly Cemetery with Rev. Paul Winston officiating. Active pallbearers will be Harry Farrow III, Evan Farrow, Larry Weesner, Larry Buttrum, Nathaniel McNeese, and Junior Villeda. Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Taylor and Jason McArthur.

Ron Hill, Obit (M)

Mr. Ronald Gene “Ron” Hill, age 81, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Advent Health Redmond.

Mr. Hill was born December 25, 1942, in Middlesboro, KY, son of the late Hugh Gene “Tim” Hill and Marie Glass Hill. He was a member of Horizon Baptist Fellowship, and prior to his retirement, served as Senior Vice President of the Bank of Chickamauga. Mr. Hill was a Captain in the United States Army, having served in Vietnam.

Mr. Hill was an officer with the Georgia Banker’s Association, the American Banking Association, President of the Summerville/Trion Rotary
Club, member of Kiwanis Club, President of the Chamber of Commerce, member of the Optimist Club, the Chattooga County Bass Club, the Jaycees, and the Chattooga County Wildlife Club.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by an infant sister, Edie Suzanne Hill; grandparents, Hayburn Emmett and Milphia Glass, Orbin Lee Hill; and a niece, Wendy Marie Armstrong Douthat.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Wanda Jaynes Hill; daughter, Keri Beth (Paul) Roberts; grandsons, Dallas W. Roberts and Davis W. Roberts; brothers and sisters, Dennis (Pauline) Hill, Linda (Clinton) Armstrong, and Tim Hill; nephews, Clint (Jyn) Armstrong, Jesse (Christina) Hill; nieces, Eryn and Katy Hill; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Horizon Baptist Fellowship, with Mr. Jim Curry officiating. Graveside and interment services with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Highland Cemetery in Rogersville, TN. Active pallbearers will be Bill Gilbert, James Archer, Gary Blackwell, Jim Curry, Arch Farrar, and Mike Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Keithas, Scott Tucker, Steve Mullis, Lee Stamps, Johnny Gilreath, Glen Ezell, Gary Floyd, Ed Tinney, Billy Pettit, Butch Young, Eddie Ellenburg, Butch Eleam, John Skelton, and Ben Huggins.

Mr. Hill will be in state at Horizon Baptist Fellowship and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Friday.

Mrs. Helen Frances Canady Odom passed peacefully hand in hand with her husband, Howard, of 68 years at her residence on March 7, 2024.

Mrs. Helen was Christian by faith and a faithful member/pastor’s wife of the Trinity Baptist Church, a long time child care giver of hundreds of children. She touched the life of so many children and families. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, cook and care giver. She was born in Marshal County Albertville, Alabama to the late Alvin and Irene Cannady. She was one of ten children surviving of the ten include Verlon Cannady and Linda Cannady. She is preceded in Death by her mother Irene (Hollis) Cannady and the Late Alvin Cannady and Son in law Ricky Croy, along with several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her Daughter Wanda Croy (Rickey Biddle) and Sons Brother Mike (Phyllis) Odom and Steve (Karen) Odom. Grandchildren Jeremy (Julie) Croy, April Odom, Nathan (Katie) Odom, Hannah (Eddie) Millican, Matthew Odom, Dustin Blackwell, Jacob Odom. GreatGrandchildren, Mikinzie (Jeremy) Anderson, Lightnin (Ashley) Croy, Reese (Nic) Davis, Noah Millican, Sarah Millican, Olivia Millican, Zoey Millican, Mikyia Odom, Ashley Odom, Caroline Odom Tallyn Odom, and Melanie Odom. William David Ford, Obit (ER)

MR. WILLIAM DAVID FORD, age 75, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024, in a Rome hospital. A native of Trion, Georgia, He was born to the late William O. and Mildred Moore Ford, on October 5, 1948. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, the late Diane Gorman Ford, and a sister, the late Sarah Jane Ford. He was a Volunteer Fireman from 1982 until 1993, City of Summerville Fireman for 32 years, and has served as City of Summerville Councilman from 2011 until present; He was a Veteran of Viet Nam serving in the U. S. Marines Corps.

Surviving are several Cousins and His City of Summerville Family.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 10th, at 1:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Mr. Arch Farrar, Mr. Stan Moseley, and Mrs. Odell Anderson officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Mrs. Georgia Mae Adams (72) departed her earthly life on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at her residence in Trion. She was at peace with the Lord. Mrs. Adams had graduated from Lafayette High School in 1970 and was a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Georgia was preceded on her pathway to Heaven by her father and mother, Robert W. Thomas and Gladys Pauline Brown Thomas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Sue Sosebee and Allen and Caroline Sosebee. She was also preceded in death by her niece, Amber Thomas. Mrs. Adams is also being met at the stairway to Heaven by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nip and Pauline Adams along with her brother-in-law, Raymond Murphy and a niece, Ashley Wright.

Mrs. Adams is survived by husband of fifty two years, John Adams; sons Robert Spencer Adams and Randall Wayne Adams; two grandchildren, Matthew Spencer Adams and Hailey Brianna Adams; one great grandchild, Emerson James (EJ) Adams; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Sosebee and Robert and Carol Thomas; sisters-in-law, Wanda Murphy, Lucy Adams and Juanita Henderson; brothers-in-law, Terry Adams and Don Henderson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Marty McRae officiaiting. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Benny Ray Morgan, age 81 of Trion, Georgia passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 in a Springfield, TN healthcare center.

Mr. Morgan was born in Trion, Georgia on July 16, 1942, son of the late Bud Morgan and Mildred Ramey Morgan. He was a member of the Berryton Church of God and was retired from Georgia Rug Mill/Bigelow-Sanford. He was a member of the Trion Lodge#160 F&AM, and enjoyed fishing, golfing, metal detecting, visiting Hawaii, and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Danette Noles.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Becki Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Allison Morgan; stepdaughter and so-in-law, Kim and Dennis Steward; sisters, Nancy Majors and Glenda Allen; grandchildren, Jordon Butler, Julie Butler; Jonathan Durham, Landis Morgan, Brook Morgan, John Patterson, Connor Morgan and Sela Stewart; 6 great grandchildren; special friend, Paul Songer, his fur baby, Piper; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Milburn Ellis Arnold, age 77 of Subligna, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 in a Rome hospital.

Mr. Arnold was born in DeSoto, Texas on February 22, 1947, son of the late Perry Ellis Arnold and Imogene Juanita Anderson Arnold. He was retired from the City of Dallas, Texas, where he was a foreman and chief mechanic for the city. Mr. Arnold loved to hunt and fish, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by two sons, Kenny Kienzle and Kevin Kienzle; granddaughter, Chelsea Arnold; and a sister, Joy Karen Arnold.

Mr. Jackie Edward Mobbs, age 67, of Gaylesville, AL, died Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Mobbs was born May 11, 1956, in Rome, GA, son of the late Richard “Dick” Mobbs and Josie Battles Mobbs. He was Baptist by faith and was retired from Westinghouse. Mr. Mobbs was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Jimmy Mobbs; as well as many other family members.
Survivors include his son, Richard Lynn Mobbs; a brother, Marvin “Turk” Mobbs; grandchildren, Kristian Mobbs, Michael Reynolds, Haley Studdard, Jerzie Mobbs, and Ryder Mobbs; great-grandchildren, Ryker Cavin, Raya Cavin, and several other great-grandchildren; honorary sons, Kevin (Rebekah) Henderson, Shane Hurley, Toby (Anna) Morrison, Brandon Tallent, and several others; several honorary grandchildren; and special friends, Leroy Grogan, Cathy Hurley, Carol Tallent, and many others.

Born in Trion, Georgia on July 3, 1929, He was a son of the late Sam and Lillie Harris Davis. A member of the West Berryton Faith Temple and was retired boiler operator for Bigelow-Sanford Mill. In addition to Parents, He was preceded in death by His wife the Late Mary Etta Hix Davis, sons, the late Ray Davis and Donnie Lee Davis; siblings, the late Fannie Blackmon, Lillie Mae Hines, Naudie Lee Hines, John Henry Davis, Earnest Davis, and Willis Davis.

Mrs. Alisa Dawn Burkhalter, age 55 of Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Burkhalter was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 5, 1968, daughter of Violet Ruth Burhkalter Alexander. She had been employed as an occupational therapist, and was of the Christian faith.

Mrs. Burkhalter loved her plants, cooking and traveling, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially playing with and teaching her grandbabies. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Courtney Eliane Brown; grandmother, Nora Belle Davis and her former father-in-law, Jerry M. Brown.

Mrs. Burkhalter is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob Levi and Chelsea Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Baylee Delaine and Dakota Crowe; Mother and Stepfather, Violet Ruth and Don Alexander; grandchildren, Ellie Crowe and Oaklyn Crowe; and a number of additional Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and extended family members.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Burkhalter will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. in the Garrett Cemetery with Rev. Sammy Barrett officiating.
