A Hairlake Road resident reported to Chattooga County Sheriff Deputies that both her home and her car had been broken into, with a CD player being stolen from the car.
On Saturday, Deputies met with Philana Williams who stated that a former resident of her home had contacted her regarding retrieving some items from the home that had been left there. Williams later arrived at the residence and noticed that a window was open and it looked as if someone had gained access to the home from the opening.
While talking with Deputies, Williams also noticed that the door to her car was ajar. An inspection revealed that her CD player was missing from the car. The CD player was described as a Kenwood brand with a touchscreen that was valued at $300.
A report was placed on file and the case was turned over to investigators.
