The Cedar Bluff Police Department is currently seeking the assistance of the public, in an effort to identify a man being sought for questioning, in connection with an apparent theft of money from an area convenience store.

The suspect, a white male, was captured on video by surveillance cameras, at the Country Store on Highway 9 north in Cedar Bluff – video shows the man driving onto the parking lot, then entering the store, where, after noticing that no employees were in the immediate area he leaned over the checkout counter and appeared to pick something up and walk out with it. He then drove away in what appeared to be a mid-80’s model Chevy Blazer – the vehicle was red, with a black passenger-side front fender and a sun roof.

When a store employee returned from checking the store gasoline tanks it was discovered that two money bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash and checks, were missing from behind the counter.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident or the identity of the man seen in the video, is encouraged to contact either Cedar Bluff Police Officer Jason O’Neal, by calling (256) 523-2545; or Investigator J.P. Curry, by dialing (256) 523-2548.
