Chattooga County has signed an agreement with the US Census Bureau that will allow the agency to use space at the Chattooga County Civic Center for a Questionaire Assistance Center.

Commissioner Jason Winters said that it is important that the residents of Chattooga County fill out the US Census and turn them back in so that the agency can get an accurate count.  The county needs the census to qualify for federal dollars that will otherwise be lost if an accurate count is not made.

Winters said that over the past years, Chattooga County has had a relatively low return to the US Census Bureau.
