Residents in the Center Post community, just north of the Chattooga County line in Walker County will be getting a new community center.
Walker County Commissioner Bebe Heiskell stated that the new community center would be located at the old Center Post School. Money for the project will come from SPLOST funds and will include a recreation area. Walker County owns the old school building and six acres of land in the community.
Heiskell described a two-fold purpose for the facility: a place for community entertainment and a place for area children to play inside
