Charges are pending against an Atlanta woman involved in a Rome traffic fatality Tuesday. The accident took the life of 21-year-old Brooke Michelle Anthony of Armuchee.  The other two female drivers involved in the three-vehicle wreck were hospitalized at Floyd Medical Center, according to report. Reports indicate that 27-year-old  April Nichelle Gales, 27, of Atlanta, was the driver of a GMC cargo van, and Nina Nelson, 25, of Rome, was driving a Ford Explorer. Charges against Gales are pending, according to a Rome Police Department report. Nelson
reportedly suffers from two broken legs, broken rigs and a punctured lung and Gales reportedly has broken ribs, a punctured lung and a busted spleen. The wreck occurred on the bypass near Grizzard Park, closing traffic in the westbound lanes just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said Anthony, of 480 Turkey Mountain Road, Armu­chee, was pronounced dead in the Floyd Medical Center Emergency Room at 5:30 p.m. that day.
