The Chattooga Board of Education held a called meeting on Thursday evening to approve personnel changes as Michelle Heile moves into the roll of county school superintendent. Heile was appointed school superintendent by the board last month and will take over at the end of this month. Current School Superintendent Jared Hosmer will be retiring at the end of the month with his retirement date set as June 30th.
The board voted unanimously to move Robert Beach from Success Team to Chief Academic Officer and will be taking over roles of Michelle Helie. Renee Beasly was named Assistant Principal at Chattooga High School, replacing Matthew West, who has taken the position of school principal in another school district.
Jeremy Heathcock was named Assistant School Superintendent and will be retaining his roles as Federal Program & Student Services Director for the school system.
All votes were 4-0 in favor. Board Member Bonnie Fletcher was out of town on vacation and did not attend the meeting.
