The Chattooga County Board of Education met last Thursday to review and approve a series of personnel changes recommended by Superintendent Michelle Helie. The certified recommendations included the addition of three new 38% interventionist positions at Lyerly Elementary School, to be filled by Rhonda Bannister, Shirley ‘Denise’ Jones, and Lisa Miller.
On the classified side, the board accepted the resignations of several non-instructional staff members across the district, including aides, bus monitors, paraprofessionals, food service workers, and custodians.

The reasons cited for these departures ranged from personal matters to medical issues. The board approved the transfer of a custodian, Mason Marshall, from Leroy Massey Elementary to Chattooga High School, as well as the hiring of several new classified employees, including a school food service worker, paraprofessionals, and a substitute teacher.

Additionally, the board approved the addition of several substitute teachers, including Lydia Pence, Lakisha McConnell, Tammy McDonald, and Kandi Rich.
