The Chattooga Board of Education met on Thursday of last week and voted unanimously to extend the contract of School Superintendent Jared Hosmer.

All five of the board members voted to renew Hosmer’s contract.  The contract is for three years.

Also, the Board of Education voted 5-0 to accept the guaranteed maximum price on the new school at Menlo Elementary.   Board of Education Chairman Eddie Eslberry told WZQZ News that while the guaranteed maximum price is $20.5 million, that doesn’t mean that the cost will be that amount – but the contractor cannot exceed that amount.

Construction on the new Menlo School got underway in November.
