It is expected that the Chattooga County Board of Education will make a decision soon about who will lead the Chattooga County School system.  The board has narrowed the search down to three men – all high school principals. 

Glenn White serves as principal at Model School in Floyd County.  White is a native of Chattooga County and owns a home at Cloudland.  Jay Floyd serves as principal at Cartersville High School and Jimmy Lenderman serves as principal at Chattooga High School. 

Lenderman has been very vocal in his desire to lead the Chattooga County School system as superintendent.  Shortly after the announcement of the resignation of former superintendent Dr. Dwight Pullen, Mr. Lenderman released an open letter to AM 1180 addressing the Chattooga County Board of Education and outlining his desire to serve as school superintendent.

The Chattooga County Board of Education met on Tuesday afternoon at 5 PM in a special called meeting.  Board Chairman Eddie Massey told AM 1180 that the earliest a decision would be made on naming a superintendent would be this Thursday, July 28.
