The Chattooga Chamber of Commerce and the Community Resource Center (CRC) are joining forces to address a pressing community need with their upcoming “Feed the Need Lunch & Tour” event. Scheduled for November 17th, 2025, at 12:00 PM, this event offers a unique opportunity for residents to learn more about the CRC’s vital work while contributing to a crucial cause: alleviating hunger within Chattooga County.

The “Feed the Need” initiative aims to bolster the CRC’s pantry, which serves a growing number of individuals and families facing food insecurity. Organizers emphasize that the need is significant, and community participation is paramount to its success.

Attendees are invited to contribute by bringing a donation of non-perishable pantry items. The focus is on items that are not only easy to open and prepare but also appeal to children and provide essential nutrition. This thoughtful approach ensures that donations can be readily utilized to create wholesome meals for those in need.

The CRC has provided an immediate needs list to guide potential donors. Key items include:

  • Cereals
  • Powdered milk
  • Complete mac and cheese kits
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Bread (shelf-stable options are encouraged)
  • Canned protein items (tuna, chicken, etc.)
  • Thanksgiving dinner staples (cranberry sauce, gravy mix, etc.)
  • Canned vegetables
  • Dried onions
  • Soups (particularly Cream of mushroom or chicken)
  • Instant mashed potatoes

In return for their generosity, the Chattooga Chamber and the CRC will be providing lunch for all attendees. This dual purpose event allows for community members to connect, learn about the CRC’s impactful programs, and directly contribute to a worthwhile cause.

Reservations are required to ensure adequate catering. Community members interested in attending this impactful event are encouraged to make their reservations promptly.

The Community Resource Center is located at 50 Eleanor Ave, Suite A, Summerville, GA 30747.

This “Feed the Need” event serves as a powerful reminder of the collective impact individuals can have when coming together. By participating, residents can make a tangible difference in the lives of their neighbors and help ensure that no one in Chattooga County goes hungry.
