Residents of Chattooga County are invited to a free two-hour estate planning workshop this Thursday, March 13th from 10 AM to Noon at the Chattooga Civic Center, located at 44 GA-48, Summerville, GA 30747. The workshop, led by UGA Extension Coordinator & FACS Agent Rebecca Thomas, and Probate Court Judge Gary Woods, aims to provide participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to create their own estate plans. Attendees will be guided through the process of developing essential documents using provided templates and worksheets. Estate planning is a crucial step in ensuring your assets are distributed according to your wishes, and that potential tax burdens on your heirs are minimized. Without a comprehensive estate plan, including a will, state laws will dictate the distribution of your possessions and the courts will decide the custody of your children. This workshop provides a valuable opportunity to take control of your future and protect your loved ones. Don’t miss this chance to learn about the importance of estate planning and create a plan that reflects your wishes. You can reserve your seat for the workshop HERE
