An affidavit obtained by a Chattanooga television station regarding a worker arrested for sexual battery at a housing facility for migrant shows a Chattooga County connection to the case.

According to WRCB News reports, thirty-five-year-old Randi Duarte was working at the migrant facility, operated by the Baptiste Group, LLC, when she allegedly began a sexual relationship with a seventeen-year-old migrant worker.  The age of consent in Georgia is sixteen, but in Tennessee it is eighteen.

Agents with the U.S. Health and Human Services made contact with the minor at a job site in Summerville, Georgia, where he was working with his uncle on a roofing site.  It was in Chattooga County that the minor told authorities that he was love in with Duarte and they previously engaged in intimate acts at the facility in Chattanooga.

Since then, Duarte was arrested in Whitfield County, Georgia and Baptiste Group, has had their license suspended by the State of Tennessee.

Baptiste Group, LLC is appealing its license suspension and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
